Products I Finished - (MAY Empties)

9:00:00 PM

It's actually a bizarre thing really, how this Empties and Monthly Favorites posts are always super late every month. It's supposed to be up at every start of the month but the reality is I always put it up during the middle of the month. Oh well..

I started this Empties series back in October 2012 when I was overwhelmed with the amount of products in my overflowing stash. I started this project to achieve a certain goal which is: cleaning up my stash little by little. I hate throwing products away so I tried to use every single product in my stash until they're finished. Well, except if the product didn't really suits me then I would give it to someone else who might need it instead of just throwing it to the bin.

Thanks to this Empties project, right now my stash is in a much better condition ;) I now have a significant space on my stash (that I would fill with more products again, no doubt about that), but at least I'm trying to use up all the products so that I won't have an overwhelming stash of products again ;p

So even though this is a super late post again, but here it is anyway... The MAY empties a.k.a products I've used up / finished for last month.

My May Empties:
from left to right, starting from back row:
Shiseido de'Luxe Toner
Citra Night Whitening Body Lotion
Ovale Lotus Liquid Soap
The Body Shop Neroli Jasmin Body Lotion (travel size)
Made From Earth Citrus Fresh Organic Lip Balm
Sunsilk Salon Expert Damaged Hair Treatment
Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream 2x (samples)
Mustika Ratu Tomato Mask
Watsons Invigorating Lavender Wet Tissues

I always tried to finish the already-opened bottles and jars first, or products that I once used but never finished. And there were so many of them when I first started this Empties project.

Last month (May) is my 8th month doing this Empties project, and now that I finally finished a lot of products in my stash (compared to my stash condition back in October '12) I found that I have less and less opened products in my stash now. That's why I only have a few products on my May's Empties. I tried to finish the opened ones first before I cracked open a new one.

There are only a few old products left on my stash last month and these are a few of those products which I finally used up. I still have a few left, and because I finished a lot of products in the past months so I got to open up some newer ones last month, yay for that!

Bath & Body Products:
  • Citra Night Whitening Body Lotion
This is a body lotion specifically for night use, but you can also use it as daily lotion too. This is from a local brand and it contains mulberry extract and grapeseed oil that would help brighten your skin. At first I love this lotion and used it regularly at night because the scent is so wonderful and sweet, it helps me relax a bit during sleep time. But then I noticed that it actually has shimmers in it, so when I saw some loose shimmers on my skin every time I use this lotion that's when I stopped liking it :( I don't really like shimmers on my body.
- Recommended? Yes, if you don't mind shimmers because the formula and the scent is actually pretty good.
- Repurchase? Nope, not for me.

  • The Body Shop Neroli Jasmin Body Lotion (travel size)
This comes in a set that my man gave me a long time ago. I mostly used the set for when I'm traveling because it is a travel size set anyway. I don't really like the scent because it's just way too sweet for me, but the texture of the lotion is great and fast absorbing so I pretty much like it for daily use.
- Recommended? Yes, if you like sweet scents.
- Repurchase? No.

  • Ovale Lotus Liquid Soap
This is a liquid soap from another local brand called Ovale. This liquid soap has olive oil and vitamin E to keep the skin moist and refreshed. I saw this in the supermarket rack and got interested with the packaging which is very Balinese-style. I also never tried Ovale soap before so I was curious too. It turns out that I didn't like the formula of the soap which is too runny for my preference. And I also didn't really like the scent.
- Recommended? I don't think so.
- Repurchase? Definitely not.

Face Products:

  • Shiseido DeLuxe Toner
I got this from SASA.com and this is a big size bottle so it took a few months for me to finally finish this. First of all, I love the bottle. It's a glass bottle and I love the design on the front and I think it looks pretty on top of my vanity. I'm actually sad throwing this bottle away so maybe I won't dispose it? (;p) As for the toner itself, it's just an "okay" toner. It has alcohol in it so sometimes it stinks a bit. I personally prefer a toner without alcohol in it.
- Recommended? Maybe not.
- Repurchase? No.

  • Made From Earth Citrus Fresh Organic Lip Balm
My lips has gone dry for the past few months so I am using my lip balms like crazy. It seems like I finished a lip balm every 2 months or so because I have many opened lip balms and trying to finish them up. You can see there's almost always a lip balm on my empties post these past few months ;p And because of the severe dry lips condition I finished them a lot faster because I applied it everyday, like every 3-4 hours or so. This is an organic lipbalm which is better for the lips but the conditioning abilities of this one is not as great as my other lipbalms, but at least this one is healthier though ;p
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? This was sent to me for review purpose from a US company so I don't think this is available locally.

SACHETS:
  • Sunsilk Salon Expert Damaged Hair Treatment
This is from the Sunsilk Co-Creations range, a collaboration with Thomas Taw, a London hair expert. This hair treatment is specifically for dry & damaged hair, and because I have dry strands so I tried this one as a deep conditioner for my hair. I got two uses out of this sachet because my hair is quite long. After my hair dries, it felt light and bouncy and smooth to the touch. I like the result so far.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes.

  • Mustika Ratu Tomato Mask
This is from another local brand called Mustika Ratu. It's a powder face mask made out of traditional recipe that includes tomato extract. Tomato is known for whitening or brightening effect, it also nourishes and freshen the skin. This contain Vitamin C & E to make dull skin turns fresh and glowy. I mixed this powder mask with rose water to make a paste and then slather it on my face. I actually didn't really find any instant changing result after using this one so maybe it has long term effect? I don't know.. I'm not sure..
- Recommended? Not really.
- Repurchase? No.

  • Watsons Invigorating Lavender Wet Tissues
This is just a wet tissue that I got from Watsons. I love it because it has a fresh scent, it's alcohol-free, and it feels mild on the skin too. I used this to wipe my hands and/or face, and I found this one is very suitable for both face and body.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes.

SAMPLES:
  • Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream
I finally tried this popular cream after all this time. When this cream was all the rage back then I didn't get the chance to try it, but I got these as a bonus from my online store purchases a few months ago and I've been storing it, and finally got them out last month to try them. The consistency is of a thick cream which feels a little bit greasy and did look shiny on the face too, but it did moisten the skin and feels comfortable on the skin. I got quite many uses out of these two sachets and I've been using them for these scars on my legs too, and I found that they are quite good for the scars as it seems to lighten the scars.
- Recommended? Yes, if you don't mind the mild greasy feel.
- Repurchase? Probably yes, because of the "all-purpose" benefit in it.

So that's it for my May Empties. Not a lot of products comparing to my other Empties posts. That means my stash is already reduced quite a lot ;)
