Review: CITRUS CLEAR

8:52:00 PM

A couple of weeks ago I received these natural-based products from Citrus Clear that really tickled my fancy ;) I'm a sucker for fun packaging so these two really caught my eyes and right now I am proudly displaying them on my vanity and bathroom rack because they're cute to look at from above ^o^

Aren't they fun to look at? :D

These are the products from Citrus Clear, an evolving beauty company that always ensures that their products are naturally-based, eco-friendly, and sustainable. They have a unique holistic approach using citrus ingredients to provide a premium, concentrated skin care. Their products are the perfect mix of modern science and holistic treatments.

Citrus Clear is a New-York based company which has a natural and holistic treatment for acne, sensitive skin and all skin types. They value each of their unique formulas and ensure that only the most potent citrus juices, extracts, tinctures, and peels are used in their products.

After looking at their website I finally decided on these two products which I think would be suitable for my current skin condition. I have an oily-combination skin and lately it has been acting up a little bit by frequently producing acne and shiny oily face during the day.

So based on that condition I picked out the Lemon Uplift Control Moisturizer. And then the PR rep who contacted me suggested the Tangerine Tingle, and after reading about it on their website I simply agreed with his suggestion and can't wait to try it out.

So those are what the products looks like from the front. The shipping took about 2-3 weeks which is normal for international packages. I love the simple packaging of the products with a citrus and tangerine graphic on the cap which makes it very interesting to look at.

Okay now let's talk about them one by one...

The Lemon Uplift Control Moisturizer is a daily moisturizer for those with oily skin, acne, problematic or combination skin. On the website it claims that it will not make your skin oily, but instead keep it moisturized after washing your face. This moisturizer is moisturizing, clears acne and prevent future breakouts. The natural acne fighting ingredients minimize pores and oil production, and the lemon uplift scent will also lift up your spirits into clear skin.

Well, after using this for several weeks I could say that this would be very suitable for those with oily to super oily skin. It does feels good for my combination skin but when my skin is dry (after shower, for instance) it would sometimes feel less moisturizing, but in terms of keeping the oil and shine at bay, then this is one of the best.

The texture of this moisturizer is not like your typical moisturizer or lotion. It is like a springy type of lotion, and it's white in color. It has a medium light-weight formula and for my combination skin I prefer to use it in small portion. For those with super oily skin might use more because this would absorbed rather quickly and would not leave any residue at all which is always a great thing.

I love using this on a hot day and because this absorbed rather quickly and did not leave any residue at all so my makeup would glide on smoothly on top of this and from my experience the makeup stays a little bit longer too.

I also noticed that I have less breakout now, and my acne scars were also lightened a little bit. The scent is also refreshing, just like a natural fresh citrus scent in a citrus garden. I usually would not like artificial citrusy scent because I would get queasy in the stomach, but this citrus scent is so natural it smells refreshing and did not smell artificial so I could actually smell it without getting queasy ;p

Below is a photo to show you the texture on my skin and how it really was fully absorbed by the skin, leaving no greasiness or any residue at all:

I hope you can see from the last image that the skin surface is totally dry after using this moisturizer, and this allows my makeup to go on smoothly.

On the other hand, the Tangerine Tingle is my most favorite among these two products. The PR rep who suggested this for me swears that I'm gonna love it, and I did! This is a two-in-one face scrub / mask, so you can use this as a face wash or scrub, but you can also use this as a face mask. You know how I love practical two-in-one things ;p

The website said that the longer you leave this product on, the more it tingles! And the tingling action is from the ingredients in the scrub doing two things: (1) removing dead skin cells, and (2) stimulating production in new, fresh skin cells. This product contains gentle exfoliating ingredients which remove oil, dirt, and impurities. It also contains glycolic acid which exfoliates dead skin cells and keeps pores from clogging. Last but not least, the lemon oil helps to improve and brighten the complexion.

My first impression after using this product for the first time was how I love the refreshing scent and the feel of the soft scrub against my skin when I used this as a face scrub. I really love the texture of it and the fact that it is exfoliating my skin gently while making my face feels so fresh.

The texture itself is like a gooey thick and soft formula with a very refreshing tangerine scent. The beautiful color of orange also a feast for the eyes. It's bright, it's freshly scented, and the texture feels great on the skin; it really feels like you're applying a formula freshly made out of the fruits itself.

To use this as a face wash or scrub, you just simply wet your face, apply the formula and scrub it a little bit in circular motion all around your face and then wash it with water. And to use this as a mask, you just simply scrub it for a little while and then let it sit on your face for 2-4 minutes before you wash it all out.

This is good for exfoliating the skin and it helps in bringing out brighter complexion too. It may cause redness which is normal and would go away within minutes. I personally didn't experienced any redness when using it, but I do felt some tingles on my skin which is also perfectly normal according to the website.

After using this Tangerine Tingle, my skin would feel so clean and refreshed with a brighter complexion. I also saw improvements on my skin after several frequent uses, and whenever I feel that my skin needed a boost I would use this as a facial mask :)

Overall, I do recommend Citrus Clear products especially for those with oily to super oily skin, or those with acne problems. I also love the Tangerine Tingle so much and would like to highly recommend that too. It is now one of my current favorite products in my bathroom because I can use it as a face wash / scrub or as a face mask. The two-in-one function also makes it one of my must-have for traveling because I don't have to bring a separate face wash + face scrub + face mask, all I have to do is just bring the Tangerine Tingle and I would have all three of those in one simple product!

Another thing that I love from Citrus Clear is the fact that they do not use any toxic ingredients in their skin care products, and all of their packaging is made from recyclable material. Definitely a company worth to mention.

Good News!
Citrus Clear are now currently having a sale on some of their products:
The Sensitive Moisturizer is 25% off!
The Sensitive Skin Facial is 20% off!

Tell me, do you have a combination or oily skin? And have you tried any citrus-based products? What do you think of it?

Toodles & Cheers,
