Look Book VoL.1

5:23:00 AM

If you follow me on Instagram then you might have noticed that I sometimes post my fashion look books there. Look books are a kind of visual fashion try-outs for me. I'm the type of person who likes to arrange and plan way ahead, and I also prefer to have at least two plans in my mind. So in that case, if plan A couldn't happen (because of other circumstances) then I would still have plan B.

Yep, that's me.  I'm always over-thinking.  Over a lot of things.

Being a planner it's no wonder that I also like to plan my outfits ahead. The ideal way to do that is to check the weather forecast and then plan the outfit based on the weather for that day. But I'm too lazy to check weather forecast on my phone (sometimes they're wrong too - you can't be sure with nature), so I usually create 2 sets of look book / outfit plans. One outfit for when the day is bright, and another outfit is for when it turns out to be a rainy day.

Usually, I would plan a week's of time. When I was still working in a 9 to 5 office job I am accustomed to plan a one-week-work-outfit for the next week. So every Saturday I usually spent hours in front of my wardrobe, trying to choose and make outfit for the whole next week ahead.

I still have that routine now, even though I'm not working a 9 to 5 job anymore. But I still like to plan ahead, so I still make look books for the week ahead (especially for events or appointments that I plan to attend). Here are some examples of my previous look books and how the outfit turned out when I actually wore them:

Look Book 1 :
Pink/Floral
I decided to change the accessory of this outfit at the last minute when I wore this. I just thought I'd wear the watch instead because the whole look seems too feminine with the original jewelries, and I was not into a super feminine mood that day so I changed it to a sporty watch instead.
Ex Ze dress // Chicnova necklace // Ice Watch
River Island clutch // Noche suede flats

So although I have made a specific outfit plan but sometimes I still do some changes to the outfit when I actually wore it. It depends on a lot of things. But most of the time I wore the exact same things as the ones in the look book.

 Look Book 2 :
Orange Mood
I usually have a favorite color every other month, a color which I keep on wearing or buying for those several months. Orange was my favorite color a while back so I was wearing a lot of orange/coral theme outfit back then. I am now currently into "pink" so I don't wear lots of orange anymore. But this  look book / outfit was from when I was into "orange".
 Vintage knit-dress // Ebay necklace
Chicnova clutch //  Payless pom-pom sandals

Look Book 3 :
Formal Brown
I wore this outfit for two meetings in a day. I tend to wear something a little more formal or smart-casual when I have a meeting, because I want to look professional so that the person meeting with me would trust my work and my professional skills. I also want to respect the person who I am meeting with, so I always avoid dressing sloppy or too casual for a meeting. I also didn't wear the bracelet set like in the original lookbook, because I thought it was too "noisy" because they keep on sliding off my arms, so I only wore the watch instead.
Vintage paisley blouse // Zara cardigan // De Moda necklace // Fossil watch
ITC Ambassador pants // Charles & Keith Slingback shoes // Elle bag

That's it for my first Look Book installment.
I plan to have these look book posts in the future as a regular blog series because I personally want to save my look books somewhere. So I can easily come and see my previous look books because I might need to repeat outfits in the future or if I need some inspirations for future outfits. So I thought why not save it in my blog so I can archive them. I hope you don't mind ^_^

So how about you? Do you also plan all your outfit ahead?
