Cow Brand SkinLife Medicated Acne Care series

As one of the 12 KBJ Star Bloggers I am really grateful that I can have opportunities to learn more about Japanese skincare. If you want to know more about KBJ (Kawaii Beauty Japan) you can read my previous post HERE. It's basically a one-stop media where you can learn all about Japanese beauty including culture and Japanese healthy diet.

Speaking about Japan, one of the famous Japanese skincare brand is Cow Brand which has been established in Japan since more than 100 years. Cow brand's vision is to bring a better quality of our daily life. All Cow brand products are easy to use and are high-quality products because it's made from original Japanese ingredients, with original Japanese aroma, taste and texture

Cow Brand has many range of products, and one of their skincare line is SkinLife which is specially targeted for acne care.

I have a combination-oily skin and sometimes would have the occasional acne, especially on those monthly period days (>__<). So I was quite excited when I was introduced to these Medicated Acne series set from Skin Life.

The set comes with a Foaming Facial Wash and a Face Lotion (Toner). The Foaming Facial Wash comes in a big pump bottle that comes with a stopper so it's possible to bring this when you travel without having to worry that it would spill.

The Skinlife Acne Care has a moisturizing and firming properties, and can softens dead skin cells too. According to the pamphlet this acne care series have the ability to lift up dead skin cells and fix skin texture as well as tightening the pores to make our face brighter and smoother. This acne care series would also helps reducing oil from the face and fights blackheads.

First of all, I really like the packaging. Red is my favorite color so seeing these red and white packaging on my bathroom vanity always cheer me up somehow ;).

Second of all, I love the super light formula which does not leave any residue at all. The foaming facial wash did not make my face feels dry afterwards, and the face lotion did not make my face feels tight like other toners with alcohol in it.

The Skinlife Foaming Facial Wash is a daily face wash with a foamy texture. It claims to be able to clean our face while reducing excess oil, lightens acne scars and blemishes, and create a fresh glow on our face.

It is basically a moisture-rich facial wash that cleanse our skin while preserving skin moisture with a dense and gentle foamy lather. It's also oil-free and allergy tested.

The texture of this foamy facial wash is actually a regular liquid type of facial wash but when you pumped it out of the bottle it automatically became a rich foamy texture. I never understand how this things works ;p But I always wonder how it could change from a liquid texture into a foam in just a quick pump!

Anyway, I really love the foamy texture. I think this is my first time trying on an instant foamy facial wash. I usually bought the usual liquid face wash which you have to mix with water first before it gets foamy and bubbly. But this foamy facial wash is rather different. The texture is already foamy fresh out of the bottle. I usually would lather it directly on my wet face and then wet my fingers and start washing my face with it.

After using it for several days I find myself loving this foamy facial wash because the texture is very light and felt comfortable enough for my skin. My face would feel clean, looks fresh and healthy-looking every time I used this facial wash. The formula is also very light and gentle so I can use this as my daily everday face wash without worrying it would irritate my skin.

I also love that it didn't dry out my skin and that I can also bring it on my weekender bag if I have to, because just like I told you: although it is a pump bottle but it also has a stopper to prevent it from spilling all over.

This feels great for my combination-oily skin and I think this could also be used for oily skin too. Here's the ingredients for those of you who would like to know what's inside this facial wash formula:

Next up is the Face Lotion. This SkinLife Face Lotion is to be used as a face toner, so you wipe this all over your face with a cotton ball right after you wash your face. I've been trying and using this toner right after I washed my face with the Foamy Facial Wash above.

The active ingredients of hyaluronic acid, fruit acid, and lemon extracts in this Face Lotion makes the skin looks fresh and smooth-looking, helps to achieve an acne-free and oil-free skin, as well as removing the dead skin cells.

Different than the foamy facial wash, this face lotion comes in a plastic bottle with a tight cap. The formula is no difference with any other toners which is very runny and watery. Both this face lotion and the foamy facial wash above have a very subtle scent which you probably almost couldn't smell it, so you shouldn't have any problem with it if you don't like the scent.

This face lotion contains alcohol which usually would make my face a little bit tight, but amazingly I did not experienced any tightness whatsoever when I used this face lotion / toner. In fact, I've been using this toner twice a day everyday and did not experienced any discomfort at all.

Overall, after trying on this Foamy Facial Wash and Face Lotion set for more than a week I could say that I really enjoyed using it because it did not cause any discomfort on my skin, in fact it feels comfortable on my skin and I believe it also somehow reduced the excess oil on my face.

I usually would have annoying break outs during "that time of the month", but I was using both of this products regularly during my last "monthly cycle" and amazingly I did not get any break-out at all! And that's why I really believed in these products!

It really works for my combi-oily skin and it does prevent my usual monthly acne to come. I literally have zero zits this month, super wow!

My face also seems to feel less oily during the day especially when I don't wear any makeup. I have high hopes for these products and would continue using this set because I can already see good results. I would also like to recommend this line for those with oily skin or acne-prone skin as they can benefit from it too, especially in preventing acne.

At the moment, you can get SkinLife products on selected beauty stores such as Guardian, Grand Lucky, Yogya mart, etc.

Meanwhile, here are other products from the Cow Brand line which are already very popular in Japan. Some of them are top best-sellers in Japanese beauty market. They have brands for skincare, body care, and also for babies. I hoped for all the range to be available here in Indonesia ;)

Have you tried any of the brands above?
Or do you also love Japanese brands? Which Japanese brand that you love? Do tell us :)
