Event: Bioderma Skin Class

10:40:00 PM

Last week several bloggers were invited to the Bioderma Skin Class held at Cafe Aria in central Jakarta. I was luckily one of the bloggers invited and after attending another beauty event earlier in the day I was the second to arrived at the Bioderma skin class. The first was Phanie from Diary of A Product Junkie. I haven't met Phanie for a while so we chatted a little bit and take turns getting our photos taken, LOL.

Not long after that, the other bloggers arrived to the venue. I met Beatrix, the brand manager of Bioderma Indonesia whom I've met before, and we were also introduced to Louis Giboin, the Managing Director; and also Yi Chieh (from Bioderma training dept) who will share his knowledge in the skin class later on.

Mr Louis Giboin
Ms Beatrix
Mr Yi Chieh

The venue were decorated in a red + pink themed decor which resemble the Bioderma Sensibio H2O bottle. As you might know, I have made a review post on the Bioderma Sensibio H2O a while ago, and I also mentioned on that post that Bioderma would be available soon here in our country! So this skin class is like a pre-launching and Re-introduction to the number one selling Bioderma product which is the Sensibio H2O :)

If you watch beauty guru videos on Youtube a lot, you might have seen this bottle being raved by a lot of beauty gurus, stating that this is one of the best makeup cleanser in the market.

After trying it on for more than a month I can also say that it IS one of the best makeup remover out there. I now used this daily especially when I wear thick makeup. It is so practical and easy to use. All I need is just a bottle of this and a stack of cotton pads ;)

So I am very excited to tell you guys that starting 1st September (which is a day after tomorrow!) the Bioderma Sensibio H2O will be available locally on the Indonesian market, and currently you can get them at your nearest Guardian store.

Now back to the skin class event, after a lot of my blogger friends showed up we were seated and welcomed by the Bioderma team. First, Mr Louis Giboin as the Managing Director gave a welcome speech, followed by Ms. Beatrix (the Brand Manager) which explained about the history of Bioderma and it's company called Dermanesia.

The founder of Bioderma is Jean-Noel Thorel, a French pharmacist biologist who had an idea of combining the concept of BIOlogy and DERMAtology which then came out as = BIODERMA. Each products created by Bioderma would not only have a short-term benefit (treating the problem immediately), but would also have long-term effect (biologically repair and protect skin's natural functions), so it works two ways - which benefits our skin even more.

Bioderma actually has several different range of products but the first product to come to Indonesia is this Micellar Water from their Sensibio range. The Sensibio is made towards those with sensitive skin, but generally it can also be used by those with normal to dry skin. Well I have a combination-oily skin and so far I don't have any problem when I used it, always works great for me :)

After the introduction, Mr. Yi Chieh then took the stage and explained to us all about sensitive skin in a fun-and-knowledgeable way. Apparently there are a few different types of sensitive skin, and we also learned about surfactants that day. There are also different types of surfactants and Bioderma's micelle solution contains the non-ionic surfactant type which has neutral charge, making it a perfect tolerance for sensitive skin.

We also did a fun test together to know the PH level between various brands. There are some shocking news I found from the test, knowing that a certain type of cleanser have very high PH level which is far from our own normal PH level. From the test we found out that Bioderma have a PH level that's similar to our own skin's PH level.

The test was a fun addition to the skin class, and I quite enjoyed the fun atmosphere provided by Mr Yi Chieh when teaching the skin class.

Anyway, did you know that Bioderma has been used and loved by famous celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Kylie Minogue, etc? This particular product is now very popular and it is being sold "once every 5 seconds"!

No wonder this product is being raved everywhere, because it really does works its magic in removing makeup without water. No need to use lots of products to remove your makeup because the magical micellar water solution in this bottle can remove all types of makeup including the hard stubborn waterproof mascara.

I have tried this product before and I am now a true believer in Sensibio H2O. This really removes everything off my face and it doesn't leave any residue or greasy feeling on my skin afterward. This is the one that I carry with me if I travel because I only need a bottle of this and a couple of cotton pads in my travel case.

To use this product, all you have to do is pour the product on to a cotton pad and then just simply wipe your makeup with it. Repeat this action until you see that the cotton pad is clean after you wiped your face. To remove mascara, pour the product on to cotton pad and hold it on your lids for a few seconds before wiping it downwards. Repeat until all your mascara and eyeliner is removed and your cotton pad is clean.

Now for those of you who would like to try the Bioderma Sensibio H2O you can get them at Guardians store starting 1st September, yay!

happy to meet my bloggy friends ;)

Thank you so much Bioderma Indonesia for inviting me to the fun skin class in which I gain more knowledge about skin types, skincare, and also about the product itself. I can't wait for other Bioderma products and range to be available here in Indonesia so we can all try those too :)

I'll see you on my next event report!

  1. hi...
good it feels to follow a beauty event, certainly adds a lot of experience.
With proper skin care, skin becomes moist. Make up does not need to be thick. Visit our website at www.beautyandtheblog.co
