What's inside My Travel Beauty Bag - Aston Marina Edition7:00:00 PM
This is a super duper late post but since I already edited the photos from a long time ago so I decided to just post it anyway despite it is being super late ;p
So around the end of February I went to stay at the Aston Marina Ancol hotel for a weekend with my family. It was a short getaway that was much needed and I'm glad I can spend a quality time with my family.
So we went to Ancol before checking in to the hotel. We took a short stroll on the beach and the long boardwalk to have a late lunch at Le Bridge, the restaurant that's located off shore.
It was a beautiful afternoon and I really enjoyed my time at the boardwalk and at Le Bridge. After spending the afternoon at the beach we went to the Aston Marina hotel to check in and change our clothes to have dinner.
If you want to read the whole story and see more photos or if you want to read my review on the hotel then click here to read it on my other blog: Tigerlily's Book.
Anyway it was such a very fun weekend and a day well-spent, and today I just want to share with you what I bring for the weekend trip to the Aston Marina.
As you know, I always change my toiletries and/or makeup items every time I took a trip, either it's just a sleepover at my in law's house or for a short trip like this one. That's why I love collecting travel size products, because I frequently have a sleepover and I like to change them once in a while.
So as usual, I brought two travel pouches on my trip, one is for the toiletries and another one for makeup.
Here is the toiletries I brought with me during my Aston Marina stay over:
I brought some cotton pads that I put inside the cute little heart-printed drawstring bag above,
and for bathroom amenities I brought with me:
and for bathroom amenities I brought with me:
L'Occitane Verbena Shampoo
L'Occitane Verbena Conditioner
L'occitane Almond Shower Oil
L'Occitane Angelica Face Cleanser
The Body Shop Neroli Jasmin Body Mist
I also brought some other essentials such as:
Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa Relaxing Body & Neck Spray
The Body Shop White Musk Eau De Toilette
Supergoop SPF 30 Everyday Sunscreen Lotion (for body)
Make Up Forever Sens'Eyes Waterproof Sensitive Eye Cleanser
Watsons Invigorating Wet Tissues
Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Mistletoe Kiss
Too Cool For School Angel Hand Shea Butter Hand Cream
Do you think that's quite a lot of products for a one night stay? Did I over-packed? Well I always tend to bring a handful of essentials because I thought I might need it, and most of the time I do use it during my trip so I guess I'm not overly packed, right? ;p
Anyway, those are what's inside my toiletries bag. And this below is what's inside my makeup bag:
I tend to wear only neutrals or pastels during a trip because that's the easiest to wear. I also usually wouldn't have time (and the urge) to do a lot of makeup during a holiday trip because I just want to get out there and play and enjoy my holiday without having to concern about my complexion ;p
But I would still wear some kind of primer or bb cream or a two-way-cake powder to help keep the shiny face at bay, but usually that's just it. If I have time I would wear a subtle blush-on (and maybe a thin eyeliner for dinner). I usually don't wear any eyeshadows during holiday because I have oily eyelids and I don't want them melting under the sun. And because this is a beach trip so I made sure that I didn't forget the sunscreen (and my sunglasses!).
For the base face makeup I brought:
Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream in #23
Too Faced Beauty Insurance Kit
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream
MUA Hide & Conceal (usually I wouldn't bring concealers but I had a big zit that time)
Clinique Super CityBlock SPF 40
Revlon Photoready Two Way Powder Foundie in Natural Beige
Korres Botanically Coated Blush in #44 Orange
Because we planned to have dinner outside and because I thought that we would have time before dinner so I brought along a couple of eyeliners ( i like to have options ;p). In other words: I brought along a complete eye makeup tools (sans eyeshadows):
Garnier Light Brightening Eye Roll-On
Revlon Eyeliner Pencil in Black 01
Holika Holika Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliner in #03 (navy blue)
Holika Holika Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliner in #06 (forest green)
Artistry Brow Define in Deep brown (my HG for brows)
Maybelline the Falsies Mascara
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
I also like to have options on lip colors and because there is still some space on the makeup bag so I brought a few lip colors and balms to the trip. Almost all of them are sheers and in muted colors:
NYX Smile Brightener Lip Gloss (clear colored)
Honeycat Cosmetics I'm in Heat Warming Cinnamon Lip Balm
Revlon Lip Butter in #050 Berry Smoothie
Revlon Lip Butter in #080 Strawberry Shortcake
Revlon Renewist Lip Color in #090 Heart Warming
MAC SuperGlass in Totally Bang!
I brought along this Too Faced Beauty Insurance Kit because I thought I might need it, but it turns out that I didn't used this at all during my trip. This kit includes: Primed & Poreless Face Primer, Lip Insurance Primer, and Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer.
So that's it! I guess I brought too many makeup items with me during this short getaway. I obviously didn't need that many but I'm pretty glad that I did use most of them during the getaway trip.
How about you? Do you always bring many makeup and/or toiletries items on your short trip or sleepover? Or is it just me? ^o^
