[2018] FEBRUARY Empties

1:28:00 PM

Back with my Empties post, this time I didn't get to finish a lot of things. Maybe because I already finished quite a lot of products back in December and January so there's only several products left to be finished.

Anyway, back in early February I compiled some of my already-opened products that were almost empty, and then I concentrate on using them all through February in an attempt to finish them all. Since most of them only have a little bit of products left so by the end of February I managed to empty some of them.

So as I told you, most of these were products that were opened for a while so I'm happy that I can finally finished them this month.

Without further ado, let's start !

Bodycare Products

Dr Soap Natural Coffee Scrub
St Ives Coconut & Orchid Body Wash
Freeman Barefoot Peppermint + Plum Foot Scrub

Dr Soap Natural Coffee Scrub
One of my favorite coffee scrub I've tried so far. This smells sooo goooodddd!! (I love the smell of coffee!). I also love coffee scrub that are made of real coffee grounds. I always prefer coarser body scrub compared to soft lotion type scrub because I enjoy buffing and scrubbing my skin. Of course it's not as coarse that it would hurt your skin. What I mean is I like it when I can feel the "scrubs" on my skin. You can read my detailed review here : Dr Soap Coffee Scrub.

> Replacement : Still using my Watsons Marula Oil Body Scrub

St Ives Coconut & Orchid Body Wash
This has a very nice scent, exactly like coconut floral. To me it smells like coconut water mixed with floral syrup. It is made of 100% natural extracts and I always love more natural friendly-to-the-environment products like this one. I feel like showering in an island hut with this one ;)

> Replacement : Kustie Osmanthus Fragrans Shower Gel

Freeman Barefoot Peppermint + Plum Foot Scrub
Phew, I'm glad that this is finally empty! I've had this for so long and the big tube makes it harder and longer for me to finish it. I've asked hubby to help me use this up and thanks to him we finally finish this one off! I like this one because it smells so good and refreshing, it also makes my feet smoother. But I'm just getting bored with it because I've seen it standing too long in my bathroom. So I just want to finish this up so that I can try other new foot scrubs. You can also read my review here : Freeman Peppermint + Plum Foot Scrub.

> Replacement : Haven't bought a new foot scrub yet so I'm just using my body scrub instead.

Skincare Products
Garnier Light Complete Whitening Serum Cream (for Day)
Antipodes Joyous Night Replenish Serum

Garnier Light Complete Whitening Serum Cream
This one is the "Day" version that comes with SPF19 extra UV protection. This used to be my travel moisturiser and I used it every weekend when I stayed at our parents house. I like that it's not sticky and that it absorbed quite fast to my skin. It also doesn't interfere with my makeup afterwards. You can also read my review here (in bahasa Indonesia) : Garnier Light Complete Whitening Series.
> Recommended for cheap daily moisturiser
> Replacement : Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk

Antipodes Joyous Night Replenish Serum
This was my first Antipodes serum and I don't like it because of the scent. I think this serum has a "love & hate" scent because I know some people do love the scent, but to me this smells very earthy and at some point it smells like raw egg on my skin 😓 So despite the good formula I just couldn't use this anymore (even though I've tried to) because I just can't stand the smell on my face. This still has 3/4 left of fluid inside so I'm not gonna throw this away because I hate throwing products. I probably gonna try to pass this on to my mom or my cousin and see if one of them would like this (and won't get offended with the scent). You can also read my review of other Antipodes products here : Antipodes Joyous Serum & Avocado Pear Night Cream.
> Won't Repurchase
> Replacement : Still tryin' to use up my Sukin Super Green Recovery Serum

Makeup Products
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Cushy Blusher

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in #030 Smitten
This is not empty yet, in fact it's still almost full. But my mom borrowed it once when we were in a hurry to attend a family wedding, and she liked the colour on her lips and asked where did I got this. So I gave it to her instead after the wedding. I love Revlon balm stains and I still have two of them left in different shades inside my drawer. I was happy to give this one to my mom because I'm just glad I can reduce the amount of lipsticks in my drawer 😉

> Replacement : Still has 2 more of these in other shades

Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Cushy Blusher in #1 Beach Break
This was my first cushy blush-on and I love the coral shade of this one. I also love how practical it is to use and how compact the packaging is. But then one day when I saw that the cushion on this blush started to fell apart I searched for the box because I remember that it comes with an extra replacement cushion. And that's when I realized that apparently I have thrown out the box - that still has the extra cushion inside! Oh silly me. So now I can't use this anymore because I don't have the cushion replacement 😓 But you can read my review here : Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Cushy Blusher.

> Replacement : Currently don't have any cushion blusher

Fragrance Products
Simple Indulgence Amberwood & Cedar Candle
Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne (decant)
La Perla Divina EDP (vial)

Candle Lite (Simple Indulgence) Amberwood & Cedar Candle
This is a 2 wicks candle from the Simple Indulgence selection of Candle Lite brand. This was my favorite candle especially for colder weather (although I burn this every season of the year anyway, LOL). But when it rains outside I like to burn this candle and lounge around in front of the TV. This smells woody but it has that mountain air effect on it like a fresh balsam pine scent. It feels like you're walking in a green forest up on the mountain with a fresh breeze of air. I'm so sad that I finished this one. Read my review here : Candle Lite Amberwood & Cedar Candle.
> Recommended & Will Repurchase

Jo Malone English Pear Freesia eau de cologne (decant)
This is a decant of Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia cologne. I purchased a few decants and vials of Jo Malone a couple months ago because I want to try them out first before deciding which one to buy full size. This one got emptied first so I guess it's one of my favorite one to use daily. This scent is one of their best sellers too. You can read my complete review of Jo Malone colognes here : Jo Malone Colognes Review.
> Recommended & Will Repurchase

La Perla Divina eau de parfum
This smells good! It's a fresh sparkling powdery floral, perfect for everyday wear. You can wear this to the mall, to the office, or even to cocktail parties or special events. It's basically an easy-to-love perfume that you can wear all day to different events. I like this one, it's just too bad that it doesn't have good projection and longevity on me, or else I would probably buy the decant because I like the easy-to-wear scent.
> Recommended but Will Not Repurchase

Samples & Trial Sizes
HQ7 Hair Milk
Sisley Soir De Lune Perfumed Body Cream
Laneige Water Bank Essence EX
Juara Clove Flower & Turmeric Serum

HQ7 Hair Milk
This is like a hair serum that you can spray on your hair, and it's just a tiny little sample that I got for free. I like the scent of it and it also doesn't weigh my hair down. The scent is unobtrusive and it smells like a freshly cleaned hair :)
> Won't buy the full size because I still have lots of hair serums

Sisley Soir De Lune Perfumed Body Cream
This is a body lotion version of the Sisley Soir de Lune perfume and I always prefer perfumed body lotion instead of the perfume version because perfumed body lotion always lasts longer on me compared to the perfume itself. Soir de Lune smells a little bit heady and heavy for my nose. It's an intense spicy floral that should be reserved for evening scents because I find it too heavy and too intense for daywear especially under this hot tropical sun.
> Won't buy the full size because it's not my type of scent

Laneige Water Bank Essence EX
I love Laneige water bank series because it's like a drink to my combination skin. This one is no exception. I love how quickly absorbed the formula is, and I love how my skin just drinks it up, making it supple and hydrated.
> Would buy the full size in the future

Juara Clove Flower & Turmeric Serum
I've used the sample for about a week and I think this is a good serum but nothing really special from it that makes me want to buy the full size. It does make my skin feels hydrated and smooth, but that's just about it. So I'd probably purchase other face serum with less expensive price instead.
> Won't buy the full size because it's expensive

So that's it for my last month's empties. Not so much products but I'm glad that I can finally finish a few products that's been sitting too long in my vanity. In total I emptied 8 full size products + 6 sample / travel size items = a total of 14 products.

By the way I will save the perfume empty containers because I want to make another blog series where I would write a more detailed review on each perfume vial / decants that I've finished. I have many vials and decants now ever since I started to delve more into the perfume world, so I thought I'd make a review post for every 5 empty vials / decants I have. This way, I would still have a note on each of the perfume I've tried, so I won't forget about their scents. It would also allow me to make a note or list about which perfumes I would probably try again or which ones I don't really like.

Meanwhile, you can check out my Perfume posts here..
