[Shopping Diary]: First Purchase of The Year - 20152:57:00 AM
I just finished typing my Yearly Highlights post which I regularly wrote every year to see what I've been doing during that period of time, and also to reflect back on what has happened during that year and how far I have come within a year. I usually post it on this blog because the yearly highlights usually includes this blog's development, however this year I decided to do a more personal review because I haven't been actively blogging for the last months of 2014 so I didn't really have much to say about this blog's development. So if you wanna see my personal highlights of the year you can hop on over to my other blog TIGERLILY'S BOOK (^_^).
On a side note, I've been busy re-arranging my wardrobe room this past month because I still haven't finished the whole decor of our place yet (although it's been a year after we moved in), but here is where I got so far in our wardrobe room:
It's still a work in progress so it's not done yet.
One little thing at a time, right? :)
Okay, now for today's real post, let's take a break on the *Old-Faves* series and let's move into something else more exciting which is my first haul of 2015 (^_^). I made the same post back in January 2014 and my first purchase for last year was This Works In The Midnight Hour set that I purchased from BeautyBay.com. The set includes a Deep Sleep Shower Gel and Deep Sleep Stress-Less Roll On (you can read about that HERE).
Now for this year's first purchase are actually a couple of items that I got when I went to the mall a couple days ago (^_^).
Bath & Body Works just recently opened their store here in Jakarta so I was beyond ecstatic when I first heard the news. Of course I couldn't missed it and had to go there to check out the store!
Unfortunately there weren't many sales as I was expecting. There weren't any hand bac sanitizer either which is actually what I'm after because I love collecting them cute little things. The only sale that was going on was "Buy 2 Handsoaps for IDR 160.000" - so I bought that because I also happen to hoard fancy hand soaps ;p
Me and hubby picked up the Peach Bellini Gentle Foaming Hand Soap and the Twilight Woods Deep Cleansing Hand Soap. Me and hubby always prefer the foaming hand soap because it feels more luxurious with the foams, and I think it also saves us money in the long run because you only need one pump for every use. One press/pump and it would foam up nicely. But this time I also want to try out their other variant which is the Deep Cleansing version so I picked up one of those too. (I'll put up my BBW hand soap collection post tomorrow!).
And of course, the candles !
I still couldn't let myself to buy a IDR 280000 candle (>_<) but I couldn't let myself go home without some BBW candles so I look up the mini ones instead. I was so happy to be able to try some BBW candles because it's been on my wish list for so long. On top of my BBW wish list candle is the Leaves scent which is one of their best-selling scent so I got that one, along with another scent from my wish list which is the Mahogany Teakwood.
The mall where I went to BBW also has Sephora (I almost bought the Sephora Dry Shampoo and the Benefit Real Lash Mascara), and also Victoria's Secret counter which surprisingly to me was having an annual sale of 50% Off!
I have another wish list of things that I want to buy from VS so I went to the store to check whether the items on my wish list were on sale or not. It appears that all the beauty cases as well as gadget case, wallets, small bags etc were on sale. The bodycare section were also on sale and I saw some body lotion sets that were on 50% discount - which is so worth it!
I didn't get any bodycare products because I only want two things which were their travel makeup brush case and their passport case. I saw one of their travel makeup set that came with a cute leopard print case about 2 years ago but it was a little bit pricey. Well I didn't found the exact same travel set that I want but I do find a very similar case which was on 50% sale. I also asked the sales person if the passport case was also on discount and he said "yes" so I grab the one that looks the prettiest on the counter (I originally wanted the pink one on my wishlist but they were out of the pink ones, so I picked up the gorgeous blue one instead).
They have many cute and pretty little makeup case and pouches as well - all were on 50% discount. I feel like I wanna bring a lot of them home (because we need pouches, right?). The leopard print travel case that I bought has lots of rooms to store things. It is laminated with plastic so it's waterproof. It also has a hanger inside so I can hang it on the bathroom vanity / shower. I also love the interior design of the case which is dominated with black lace (leopard print + black lace = AWESOME!!).
It has lots of narrow zippered compartments so I think it would be great for my makeup brushes (I always struggle to bring my brushes when traveling). And the best part is the bottom compartment is removable so I can have two separate pouches ! The price after discount was IDR 179500 and I got two cases out of one price :)
The passport case original price was IDR 529000 so there's no way that I would pay for it full price (*cringe*). It is made from good quality leather - almost like a saffiano leather so I bet it would be durable for a long time. I also love the mint/blue interior which is so cute and pretty.
Well, I actually don't know why I bought it because I don't go overseas that often, but I just love seeing it and wanted to have it. Hmm, I think those might be the symptoms of an acute shopping disease (>_<)
Anyway, I think I probably bought it because I'm hoping that I would have many overseas trip in the future (Amien), so it's kinda like a reminder for me to save some money for overseas holiday in the future. [
A true shopaholic must always have a reason to justify her purchases] ;P
That's it for my first purchases this year. Hubby also bought a wallet from Topman because his old wallet is already starting to torn apart. The wallet was on sale too at Topman. The next door Topshop also has a sale going on but nothing exciting for me on the sale section.
One last thing, I also wanted to show you my latest purchase of last year (2014) which is a group of pretty looking combs and hair brushes from Forever 21 (^_^). These were not on sale and actually pretty pricey for a hair brush but hey, just look at them.. My heart goes weak when faced with something like these ... My wallet would just surrender ...
So that's the end of today's post. Don't forget that the Victorias Secret Annual Sale will be going on until 25th January if I'm not mistaken so go ahead and grab the sale before it's too late :) Now I need to get some sleep because tomorrow I have to go to the lab for my fertility treatment. Wish me luck!
Hugs and Kissies,
