*Old-Faves* : CATH KIDSTON Mini Starter Set

10:26:00 PM

I've been quite productive today. I woke up late but I managed to watch some Youtube videos that gives me some inspirations. And then I cooked lunch, I took photographs of some of my latest hauls for this blog, and then I re-organize my soap stash (which is a lot!). And then I took a shower, did a full body scrub using my favorite Ovale Milk Lulur Bali (body scrub) and a face mask using TonyMoly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub.

After shower I did some decoration on the first pages of my new 2015 planner as well as re-organizing my stationary stash. Then I wrote some emails that I should have written days ago (!), and then I watch a movie with hubby while having dinner (kwetiauw siram sapi), and now I'm back in front of my laptop with the intention of finishing two blog posts tonight! Yihaaa... I'm on a roll (^_^)

So welcome to my "Old Faves" series where I reviewed some of the products that I had for a long time but never got to finish reviewing until now (;p). Yesterday's first post of the series is the MUA Eyeshadow Palettes in Glamour Days and Pretty Pastels. And Today I will review the Cath Kidston Mini Starter Set which has the prettiest packaging ever!

I got this mini starter set from ASOS a long time ago and been hesitant to use them for so long because they look so freakin' cute and I refused to break down the set! But then I decided to use them for my travel necessities because I'm afraid they will be expired before I get to use them.

The Cath Kidston Mini Starter Set includes three pairs of shower gel and body lotion in three different scents. So there's a total of six travel size products, packaged in a cute shabby-chic packaging, a typical pattern for Cath Kidston.

Irresistible, isn't' it? So The products included in the set are :

- Wild Rose Shower Gel / Wild Rose Body Lotion
- Bluebell Shower Gel / Bluebell Body Lotion
- Honeysuckle Shower Gel / Honeysuckle Body Lotion.

Here's an explanation of each scents from the packaging:
Wild Rose: A beautiful antique rose accord with a delicate dewy green top note. Base notes are soft musk and precious woods.

Bluebell: Delightful, fresh floral fragrance with notes of freesia, fruity geranium, muguet, violet and jasmine, resting on a base of patchouli, musk, cedarwood, and amber.

Honeysuckle: Soft floral fragrance with honeysuckle accents on a base of creamy woods and soft musk.

The product is small, just a 30 ml size which is perfect for traveling. I also adore the tubes which has a cute polkadot pattern for the body lotion, and a pretty floral pattern for the shower gels. Polkadots and florals do go together!

Out of the three scents above, my favorite is the Wild Rose ones (the pink ones) because they have musk and woodsy notes which is actually my kryptonites because I go weak when I smell musk and woodsy tones, I would quickly surrender to their awesome goodness, lol.. ;p

The Bluebell and Honeysuckle are a very nice scent too. Actually all three of them have a very similar scent. All of them are "floral-green" scents so they are actually quite typical one to another. But the number one reason I love them is the packaging of course! Who doesn't love the shabby chic pattern of Cath Kidston, right?

Regarding the quality of the product itself, well... I wouldn't recommend them personally because there are many other brands that are cheaper and have better quality. The shower gels are just like your typical shower gels so there's nothing special on that. The body lotion is meh. I don't like the texture and it doesn't absorbs evenly on my skin. All three scents have the same formula.

So Overall, I would probably wouldn't buy them in full size because I don't find anything special with the formula. The scent also fades out easily. If I buy any Cath Kidston beauty products in the future it would be purely because of the packaging. Yes, purely for the "pretty packaging" reason alone.

You can go to ASOS website if you want to buy Cath Kidston beauty products, and ASOS has free international shipping. So if you don't have any Cath Kidston stores in your country then go on and head over to ASOS :)

See you in my next review!
