Products I Finished - (JANUARY Empties)

2:52:00 AM

Yay, my first Empties post of the year! ;)

Back in October I started a new blog post series called the "Empties / Products I Finished" posts, in which I encourage myself to finally finish all those bottles and jars of products that have been standing on my product stash for too long.

I have so many various products that's been sitting on my vanity and bathroom rack for so long, and I started to feel quite overwhelmed with them, And that is when the monthly "Empties" post comes in to save me ^o^

It feels really great to be able to finally finish those half-empty or half-full bottles that are accumulating on my racks and vanity. I felt really happy and excited every time I get to finish a product, and I also felt good to be able to not waste products. And then at the end of the month I accumulate all those plastic containers from the finished products, and throw them away on to the recycle bin. That is the most satisfying feeling.

So anyway, here's the products that I was able to finished last month:
From left to right, starting from back row:
Herbal Essences Break's Over Anti-Breakage strengthening Shampoo
Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Glow 24hr Nourishing Body Lotion
Ella Noir Violette D'Amour "Eve" Body Douche
Korres Fig Shower Gel (travel size)
Wardah Moisturizer Gel
Willow Ridge Soap Co Very Vanilla Moisturizing Body Whip
MuLondon Organic White Chocolate Truffle Moisturizer
Taman Sari Royal Heritage Hand & Foot Spray (travel size)
Ponds Pinkish White Day Cream (sample size)
Maybelline Expert Liner in black
Dodora Youthful Pink Pigment Lightening Essence
The Body Shop Nutriganics Drop of Youth (sample)
Garnier Pure Self-Heating Sauna Mask

I'm quite satisfied to be able to finish 2 full size containers of body lotions as well as 2 small size shower gels this time, because I have so many body lotions and shower gels that are already opened in my product stash. And it took quite a while to be able to finish just one full bottle of body lotion because I mainly only use them before bed time. So being able to finish two full size bottles at once was quite satisfying. Well, one of them was only about 1/4 left so it was an easy feat ;p

I also found a very old moisturizer (Mulondon organic mosisturizer) on the back of my vanity that were only about 1/2 of it left, but the formula was already bad and the smell was not the same as it was used to, so after a few applications that turned bad, I decided to throw it away.

I also intended to use a few sachets from my "sachet stash" which consist of samples and sheet mask sachets, but I only managed to finish 2 sachets this time. I promised myself that I'd try to use a few more sachets this February so that I can reduce the amount of my abundant sachet stash.

BATH PRODUCTS:
  • Herbal Essences Break's Over Anti-Breakage Strengthening Shampoo
This shampoo is for those with hair-fall / breakage problem. It's infused with silk protein cream and fusion of lavender. It's supposed to strengthen your hair but I did not find anything special from this shampoo. It's just an ordinary shampoo to me. It smells great but it has the tendency to make my hair a little life-less looking.
- Recommended? Yes, for the scent alone.
- Repurchase? No, not for me.

  • Ella Noir Violette D'Amour Eve Body Douche
This is a shower gel and it actually comes in a set of two. The other one is for evening use (Nuit) while this one is for morning / day use (Eve). They both smells almost similar, this one a little lighter on the scent than the Nuit. I personally don't like the thick gel texture because I prefer a lighter texture, so this shower gel is nothing special for me except for the pretty Parisian-style packaging ;)
- Recommended? Yes, if you like thick gel texture and it's cheap.
- Repurchase? Nope, not for me.

  • Korres Shower Gel in Fig (travel size)
This is my first experience with Korres and I fell in love with it. This also comes in a duo set, the other one being the Guava shower gel. This Fig one has a warmer note while Guava has a light fruity scent. I love the texture of this shower gel, the lingering uplifting scent, the luxurious feeling, everything!

- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes, in other scents because I want to try them all.

BODY LOTIONS:
  • Willow Ridge Very Vanilla Moisturizing Body Whip
I got this from winning a giveaway a long time ago. This smells like a very yummy vanilla and the texture of the whipped lotion is also very smooth and buttery. It was my first time trying on a whipped-type lotion, and I liked it ;)
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? No, because it's not available here in my country, and although I like the scent but hubby didn't like it.

  • MuLondon Organic White Chocolate Truffle Moisturizer with Shea Butter and Jojoba
This jar was recently out of sight. I was sent this for review purposes a super long time ago and I remember I loved it. Mulondon is a natural organic skincare brand and their products are made from natural & organic ingredients. This moisturizer was too rich for my face during the hot months so I mostly use this as body moisturizer because it's an all-purpose formula. The scent was described as white cocoa & bourbon vanilla. Too bad when I found it again recently, the texture and scent has gone bad :(

- Recommended? Yes, especially if you have dry skin.
- Repurchase? It's not available here in my country.

  • Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Glow 24hr Nourishing Body Lotion
This is one of my most favorite body lotion, especially for night time use. And it's cheap too! You can find it in local drugstore or supermarket. I have featured this in my March 2012 favorites because I love it so much. The sweet cocoa scent is subtle but long lasting. It feels soothing and calming in some ways so it's perfect to use before bed time.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes.

FACE & HAND:
  • Wardah Moisturizer Gel
This has been my daily face moisturizer lately because it's been raining quite often so the temperature is low and it has made my combo skin more towards dry than oily. This has a thick wet gel formula so it's too greasy to wear during hot weather, that's why I only use it during colder weather or at night when I spent hours inside an air-con room where my skin tend to get dry.

- Recommended? Yes, for those with dry or combination-dry skin.
- Repurchase? Nope, it's not for me.

  • Taman Sari Royal Heritage Hand & Foot Spray with Javanese Formula
I have also featured this in my March 2012 Favorites post along with the Vaseline Cocoa Glow above. It's an anti-bacterial hand & foot spray with a combination of Lime oil, Lemongrass oil, and Basil oil formula. It also has Ginger oil that warm the skin. I like the traditional / spicy scent which I find very invigorating and somehow relaxing at the same time.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes.

  • Ponds Pinkish White Day Cream (sample size)
This is a face moisturizer which comes in a mini set with other Ponds products which were given out at the mall. This face cream has Pro-Nutrients and Lycopene in it which is great for anti-oxidant properties. However I thought the thick dry lotion formula is a bit too dry for my combo skin so it's a little bit hard to spread it evenly on my face.
- Recommended? Maybe it'll work for very oily skin.
- Repurchase? No, not for me.

Make-up Products:
  • Maybelline Expert Liner in Black
I have so many eyeliners on my dressing table that I sometimes wonder if I'd be able to finish them all. So I'm very happy to be able to finish one of them. This is a waterproof liquid eyeliner from Maybelline that has a very thin sharp pointy tip. It's not the easiest liquid liner and certainly not for beginners, but if you're familiar with eyeliners then you'll find this pretty great for precise lining.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? No, I have my other favorite ;p

  • Dodora Youthful Pink Pigment Brightening Essence
This is one of those Asian product that was popular especially here in Indonesia. This pigment brightening essence is supposed to give you a semi-permanent pink lips that look like natural lip color. I first used this religiously but then I accidentally got some of it on my nails, and my nails were literally pink for days! And I couldn't wash it off even with waterproof makeup remover. That's when I got scared about what this product is made of! Because the pink looks very fake and wouldn't smudge for days. I don't want to put something like that on my lips where there's a possibility that I might lick and swallow some of the product off my lips. Yikes! Be careful everyone..
- Recommended? Hell, no!
- Repurchase? No.

Sachets:
  • The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth (sample)
I got this sample along with a few other goodies from The Body Shop staff while I was collaborating on their BFFs program a while ago. The PR staff really raved about this product and said that it's one of their best seller worldwide where they claimed that one sold every minute! It's basically a pre-serum which you use before your serum. This feels luxurious and very rejuvenating. I simply love it a lot.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes, if they're having huge discount because it's pretty expensive ;p

  • Garnier Pure Self-Heating Sauna Mask
This is a self-heating mask that comes in a sachet with 2 doses of masks (the sachet has a split container that you can simply tear in two). The description says to use it on T-zone area (forehead, nose, chin), and since 1 dose contains lots of formula so I was able to use one dose of mask for two times of usage. That means I got a total of 4 usage out of the whole sachet. Not bad for the cheap price! It's my first time trying on self-heating mask and although it felt weird at first but then I got used to it and started to enjoy the warming process. I also love how my skin feels afterward.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes.

  6. @Ahleessa: hehe that's because I have a lot of half empty products lying around so most of these are only a half full or a quarter left when I started to finish them. That's why it seems like I emptied a lot of products, that's because I am determined to finish all those half empty jars and containers, LOL
