Weekly Face Mask: Mentholatum Youthful Looking Beauty Mask

6:50:00 PM

Welcome to my weekly facial mask routine ;)
This week I decided to use the Mentholatum Youthful Looking Beauty Mask with Retinol + AcHA. I found some variants of these masks at Carrefour (a local big supermarket), and the price is affordable too so I grabbed a couple of them.

Mentholatum is a global health and wellness company based in Kansas, USA. They are now merging together with Rohto (a well-known health and wellness company from Japan), providing non-prescription pharmaceutical, healthcare, and cosmetic products to consumers worldwide.

Anyway, there are a few variants of these Beauty Mask and some of them are now in my sheet masks pile ;) This week I pulled out this one from the Mentholatum Beauty Mask pile:

Mentholatum Youthful Looking Beauty Mask with Retinol + AcHA
I Bought it at:  Carrefour / Supermarket
Price :  around IDR 12.000 ( = $1.2)

What it says:
Diminish appearance of age-spots, wrinkles and fine lines.
Contains Retinol and Improved Sodium Hyaluronate (AcHA). The Retinol has anti-aging properties which conceals fine lines to restore youthful looking skin, and AcHA deeply hydrates to maintain skin suppleness and freshness.

My Take:
(Current skin : combination oily with dark spots + tiny bumps in forehead)
I had these tiny little bumps in my forehead area which is actually not very visible unless you stand really close to me (LOL), but still it's a bit annoying for me to have those bumps. I think I got them since I cut my bangs shorter, I always have tiny little bumps in my forehead when my bangs are short, so my forehead would get dirty and oilier more frequently when I have my bangs cut short.

So anyway, I use this mask because it said that it contains Retinol which has anti-aging properties and AcHA that would deeply hydrates the skin, I was hoping that those two combinations would make my complexion fairer.

The Mentholatum Beauty Mask is a unique sheet masks, instead of one piece of sheet they came in two pieces of sheet masks! So first of all you'll be putting on one sheet mask for the lower area of your face, and then followed by the other sheet to cover your upper face area.

The two-piece mask style is meant to be more fitted for your face, and I find this two-piece style quite useful. Maybe it would took you about 10 seconds longer than putting on your usual one sheet mask, but with this two-piece style I find it a lot easier to fit the mask on to my face. Maybe because I have a small head (therefore a small face) so sometimes sheet masks are a little too big for me, and sometimes the eyes and lips area don't really fit, but with this two-piece mask I can arrange the mask to fit my face in ideal position.

The mask itself has a subtle scent, but you probably won't notice it anyway ;) The essence on the mask is very adequate, the mask is moist and wet and it's not slippery so you can actually walk around with the mask on your face ;p

It felt instantly relaxing when worn, with a bit of cooling / tingly feeling, so refreshing! Leave it on for 15 minutes, and then put off the mask and massage in the rest of the essence that's left on your skin. It didn't leave too much essence on the skin though, so it would only take about 3 minutes to massage the rest of the essence.

The after result:
Silly me, I forgot to take the "Before" picture but below is the "After" picture. My skin felt and looked healthier right after I use the mask. It also brighten my complexion, it makes my skin more supple, refreshed, and youthful looking indeed ;)

Overall, I love using this mask. It's affordable and easily available. It has a unique 2-piece mask sheets that I found more fitted for my face shape/size. Love the refreshing feeling and the instant result. The next morning I can still see the radiance and suppleness of my skin. Great for a preparation before a big event :)

Last week I used Innisfree Natural Essential Avocado Mask, click here to read it.
