[2018] August - September Empties

5:01:00 PM

This is a super super late post, but I will post it anyway so I can make notes to myself on which products that I loved and which ones I didn't love or didn't work on my skin. So this is an accumulative empties from two months (August through September). I didn't have time to post it last month so I'm gonna post it now and give it a back date instead.

Anyway, I was in a super lazy mood to put on my skincare for the past several months and it took a toll on my skin. My face now has lots of imperfections, from annoying little breakouts, to dry patches, and some dark colored pigmentation problems especially in the cheek. So I thought to myself that I couldn't afford not doing routine skincare again because my skin seems to protest. I think my skin is probably already used to skincare routines, so now when I stopped doing skincare routine it starts to protest and breaks out on its own.

So now I'm back (well at least I try to diligently) to doing my skincare routine again in order to try to fix my skin. I had to change a couple of routines and probably had to replace some products with new ones because of my current skin condition. So now I mostly try to use up what I have left so that I can make rooms for some new products.

Hopefully next month I can get hold of the newer products that are more appropriate for my current skin condition, but meanwhile I have to get by with what I get because I don't like wasting products.

Da Mior Bamboo Extract Face Mist
This is a Korean face mist and I really liked it. Face mist and toners are my favorite skincare products to use, so I always love to try new face mist and toners. This one contains bamboo extract that helps soothe and moisturise your skin as well as giving it a freshness feeling. It also has detoxification and skin relief properties. I already made a full review here : Da Mior Bamboo Extract Face Mist.

Corine De Farme Purity Micellar Water
If compared to Bioderma I might probably say that I like this one a little bit better, just because it doesn't feel oily and sticky like Bioderma on my skin. And also because it feels lighter on skin. The power to lift off makeup I'd say is pretty much on the same range as Bioderma, meaning it didn't lift off all makeup especially if you wear foundation. So I always need a second face wash to totally lift off my makeup. But the price is way better than Bioderma, and the bottle is bigger too :)

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
This has simply become my favorite face cleanser in the bathroom. I also keep recommending it to other people just because it is a simple cleanser that can work with all skin types even sensitive ones. The formula is simple and light, it really cleanse your face and doesn't feel sticky upon application. It also didn't make my skin tight or dry afterwards. Can be used any time, morning or night, or between afternoon masks :)

Carex Refreshing Soft Cleansing Wipes
This is just a regular cleansing wipes or wet wipes that I used for wiping my face when I use cleansing balm and too lazy to use water hehe.. So after putting on the cleansing balm I just wipe the residue with this wet wipes. It is soft enough for face skin so I love it and would probably buy it again.

Saboon Funfetti Soap
This is my last Saboon so I used this sparingly before it finally finished. As I have mentioned before in this blog, I love natural soaps and Saboon is one of locally made natural soaps. I have reviewed them thoroughly here : (Saboon Natural Soap) and this Funfetti one is fun enough to use with its subtle but lovely scent.

Banila Co Clean It Zero
I love cleansing balms because they are easy to use and can be used without water. They are also easy to carry and I can bring them with me when I travel. And because they're not liquid so I can bring them with me in airplanes. That's why I always have a cleansing balm in my vanity. I love Banila Co Clean It Zero (for oily skin) because they do lift off makeup and dirt from my face, and their formula is pretty nice too. They do the job well and it lasts for many months for me :)

Nivea Make Up Clear Cleansing Water
Aside from cleansing balms I also always have micellar water in my vanity for those days that I don't wear much makeup so I can just wipe my face off with micellar water and some toners. This Nivea one is what I stored in my parents house for when I stayed over every weekend. I like using this as it has decent power to lift off light makeup such as bb creams or concealers. It didn't really take off heavy eyeliner and mascaras though, so I need a separate eye makeup remover for that. But for easy breezy makeup cleaner I recommend this one for much cheaper version of Bioderma :)

> Replacement : Still got another bottle of this in my Mom's house.

Glam Glow Youth Mud Mask
I have also already reviewed this mud mask here on this blog. I used this one sparingly because I don't want it to end so fast, Lol. This was once the rage all over the beauty world and was known as the Hollywood's mask. Your face will have an instant glow after using this mud mask. I simply love this mud mask because mud also has the ability to suck out all the trapped dirt in your pores, but nowadays we have other mud masks to choose from with much cheaper price.

Juara Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner
I always love toners and they are the only skincare product that I emptied quite fast, Lol. This tamarind tea one from Juara is a lovely one to use. It doesn't remove residues left from your cleanser so it's more suitable as refreshing toners. It freshen my skin and gave it some comfort-ness before I continue with the next skincare product in line.

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede
One of my fave scent from Jo Malone (and also everybody else's favorite), Peony & Blush Suede is a mellow sweet floral scent that's very romantic and feminine. Yet so soft and lovely, no wonder this is a favorite of a lot of people :)
You can also read my detailed review on several Jo Malone fragrances here: Jo Malone Cologne Reviews.

Jo Malone Orange Blossom
This one also a favorite of a lot of people but not mine, though.. I don't really fancy the scent because it is more like a jasmine buds to me than an orange blossom. It was also very weak scent with no sillage and longevity on my skin, so I won't probably buy this again. But perfume reacts to different people though, so what might not work for me doesn't mean it wouldn't work for you too :)

Heimish All Clean Green Foam
It's been a long time that I don't use samples like these. I tried these ones because I love Heimish Cleansing Balm so I thought I'd give this a try too. This one has a lot of foam but I don't think everyone would like the scent of this (including me). But it's not a strong scent though, so you can't almost smell it anyway. The formula is good enough. It made me feel like my skin is really clean after washing it with this foam. It gets rid of dirt and oil without leaving dryness on my skin.

Heimish White Clay Foam
Another sample from the Korean brand, Heimish. This one has a thick cream texture with soapy scent. The formula is nice and felt comfortable on my skin. It also has lotsa foams and my skin felt clean and fresh after using it. It is non irritant but I felt a little bit dry afterwards.

Ralph Lauren Romance edp
A classic favorite, this Ralph Lauren Romance is one of those all time favorites that you can never go wrong with. If you want to buy a perfume for a woman you might choose this one, as the chance is she's gonna love it (unless she's a tomboy who likes mens colognes). It is sweet and girly but not overwhelmingly sweet. Just enough for that romantic feels. I will do a more in depth review of this perfume on my perfume blog (in Indonesian language) : Yuri's Perfume Diary.

Candle Lite Ocean Blue Mist
It's been a long time since I finished a big tub of candle! This one obviously got lit the most because the scent is nice for every season. Although it still has a strong paraffin scent but the aroma is soft and relaxing enough for every day use. To my nose this smells like a soft beachy waves aroma in a calm seaside town. It's not a very strong scent but it's quite there. These candle-lite candles are in a cheaper price range but they do still have quite a strong paraffin notes or a fake artificial scent in it. I would still prefer Bath Body Works candle compared to this regarding the scent variants, but BBW candles tend to be expensive here.

That is it so far!
In total I managed to use up 10 full size products, 3 travel size products, and 2 samples! A total of 15 empty products for the months of August-September. Hopefully I can do better in using up my products through out October-November. I'll see you guys in my next Empties post!
