Products I Finished - (DECEMBER Empties)

10:28:00 PM

Another late post  :(
This is my 3rd edition of my new blog series: "Products I Finished / Empties" that I started back in October. If you're not familiar with this series or if you want to know more details on why I did this series or what this series is all about, you can read my 1st Empties post here

Well I didn't get to finish as much products as I want to during December, at least not as much as I did back in November, but I think it's pretty alright. And when I listed them here on this post, somehow it turned out that I did finished more than what I think I did ;)
So here it is...

My December empties :
From left to right, starting from back row:
Purederm Makeup Remover Cleansing Tissues with Collagen
Maybelline the Magnum Volum Express Waterproof Mascara in Black
Bath & Body Works Milk 'N Cookies Lip Balm
Miss Dior Cherie Perfume (vial size)
J'adore Dior Perfume (vial size)
The Body Shop Neroli Jasmin Body Lotion (travel size)
Artistry Lip Shine in Bloom #010
Tresemme Anti Hair-Fall Shampoo
Honeycat Cosmetics Chick Of The Sea Foaming Bath Crystals
Soft White Bengkoang Body Scrub
Biore Cleansing Strips Black Pore Pack
Dove Lightening Silk Dry Anti-Perspirant Deodorant
L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream (sample size)
L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream (travel size)
Fruttini Pineapple Prosecco Shower Sorbet (travel size)

My target for December is actually to finish a little bit more than this lot. Well hopefully my next January Empties post would have more products to finished with.

During December I did finished 4 full sized product containers as well as a full size mascara. I also finished a couple of other products and gets rid of other items that are seem to be sitting too long on my vanity.

  • Honeycat Cosmetics Chick of the Sea Foaming Bath Crystals
I got this from winning a Honeycat Cosmetics giveaway and I know I have promised to review them but still haven't made the post yet (it will be up soon, scout promise ;p). Anyway, I brought this to the hotel where I spent my new year's eve and I used this right on the Dec 31st so this still counts as one of the December Empties ;p
This bath salts are so relaxing and smells very sweet like bubble gum, and it dissolves easily on the bath tub. This also made my skin felt moist and rejuvenated right after I finished my bath.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Probably, if Honeycat Cosmetics are available locally here.

  • Tresemme Anti Hair-Fall Shampoo
This is my first time trying Tresemme shampoo as they are just recently available here. I always had a minor hair-fall problem  no matter what  my shampoo is, so I decided to try this one. Well, after finishing the huge bottle, I can say that this don't really goes well with my oily combination hair (oily roots, dry strands) because it made my hair limp without volume, and my hair would feel greasy easily whenever I used this. I also didn't noticed any difference in my hair-fall problem.
- Recommended? No, especially if you have oily scalp & dry strands like me.
- Repurchase? Nope.

  • The Body Shop Neroli Jasmine Body Lotion (travel size)
I got this in a Neroli Jasmin travel set that my man bought me. He chose this one because he liked the scent. The Mr and I usually have different tastes in scents, but not totally different.. Although this Neroli Jasmin is not really my favorite scent but I don't hate it, it's just not my preferred scent, that's all..
Regarding the lotion itself, it's just okay, nothing too special. It absorbs easily and didn't leave any greasy residue on my skin.
- Recommended? Yes to those who love the scents.
- Repurchase? No, I would prefer to buy another scents ;p

  • Fruttini Pineapple Prosecco Shower Sorbet (travel size)
This is one of my recent hauls, and I was curious with the pineapple scent even though I knew that I would not like it. And I am absolutely right, I don't like pineapple scent ;p
The shower sorbet is actually a shower gel, nothing fancy about it. It's just an ordinary shower gel. I also didn't like the texture of the gel, it didn't lather up much and the scent does not linger at all.
- Recommended? No.
- Repurchase? No.

  • Dove Lightening Silk Dry Anti-Perspirant Deodorant
I did a face-off review of this deodorant with other deodorant (Rexona Women Skin Light Deo Stick), and this comes up as the winner. This is a dry stick which leaves no wet feeling at all, and it lasts for quite a long time and didn't leave any residue too.  But the Rexona one lasts longer though... Read the full review by clicking here.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes.

  • Purederm Makeup Remover Cleansing Tissues with Collagen
Purederm has been one of my trusted cleansing towelettes, and this one has new formula because they added collagen in it. Well actually they still sell the old version (with no collagen) but I decided to try this one. This doesn't feel really different than the original version, the makeup removing quality is not bad. You can read the full review on the original version here.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes.

  • Biore Cleansing Strips Black Pore Pack
This pore pack strips has long been inside one of my drawers. I found it a few weeks ago and it still has 2 pore strips left so I used them right away with the Mr ;p
The Mr and I used to love wearing pore packs just for the fun of it. We also love using the black one because it gave greater visuals, we can easily see those white bumps on the back of the black strips. But this one is a little harsh for the skin though, I would recommend the regular Biore ones instead.
- Recommended? Not really.
- Repurchase? No.

  • L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream (travel size)
I love using hand creams and L'Occitane is one of the best ;) I love the light lotion texture and how it absorbed rather quickly on the skin. It also didn't feel greasy or left any residue at all, and this one smells very lovely too. The scent itself is subtle but lingers for about an hour or two (if you don't use your hands for anything)
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Yes, in different variants because I like to try different scents.
  • Miss Dior Cherie Perfume (vial size)
I have a few perfume vials that I've been collecting too, and these duo from Dior are what I've been using alternately. Miss Dior Cherie is supposedly targeted for the younger market. It has a lighter scent compared to J'Adore. I like the girlie romantic scent of this one but I must say that I prefer J'Adore slightly better.
- Recommended? Yes, this perfume already has devoted users out there.
- Repurchase? No, I personally would prefer J'Adore.
  • J'Adore Dior Perfume (vial size)
This one is more mature than Miss Dior Cherie. I prefer this one because it smells more warm and intimate, more sensual and mysterious, more elegant and feminine.
No wonder I love it, that's because it has wood and musk as one of their base. I love anything woody and musky in perfume ;)
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Definitely, one of my most favorite perfume!

  • Bath & Body Works Milk 'N Cookies Lip Balm with SPF15
I just realized that I had this one for years and I think this lipbalm is not healthy to use anymore after all those years! So I decided to throw this away although it still has about 3/4 of the products left in the tube. I remember when I first got it, I didn't like the texture. The texture was very thick with ragged surface and bits of black spots all around the balm, probably to mimic oreo cookies. The taste is also far from cookies or milk. And it didn't do anything for my lips.
- Recommended? No.
- Repurchase? No. Well, maybe the newer version has different formulas that worth to try?

  • Artistry Lip Shine in #010 Bloom
I also got this a looong time ago and it's only a 1/4 left so I finished it quickly by wearing it almost everyday. I like the color and the formula which is not sticky at all, but as most lip gloss do, it fades rather quickly. The color is also more subtle than what it seems from the tube. It was one of my favorite neutral colored lip gloss.
- Recommended? Yes if you love neutral colored lip glosses.
- Repurchase? No.

  • Maybelline the Magnum Volum Express Mascara in Black
This is one of Maybelline mascaras that everyone seems to love, but I personally prefer the Turbo Boost mascara because of the volume it gives me. This Magnum one is great for lengthening though.. I usually would use the Turbo Boost for thickening effect, and then followed by this Magnum one for lengthening effect. Overall, it's a pretty good mascara that gives length and moderate thickness to your lashes.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Maybe not for me.

  • L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream (travel size)
I used this for my night moisturizer. This feels great for the skin especially if your skin is dry. My skin is combination oily but it tends to get a little dry when I spent too much time in an air-con room. If I used this at night, in the morning I would find my skin moist, plumped, and perfectly hydrated. It could be a little too much for very oily skin though, especially if you use it as morning moisturizer.
- Recommended? Yes, especially for dry to combination-dry skin.
- Repurchase? No, I like to change my moisturizers.

  • Soft White Bengkoang Body Scrub
This is from a local brand and it's made from traditional Bengkoang fruit/plant. I love this body scrub because the texture is really smooth and a bit creamy so it feels good on the skin. The scrub didn't feel rough at all. It's cheap, easy to use, can be used dry or wet, and the smell is amazing too.
- Recommended? Yes.
- Repurchase? Not this time, because I love trying on different brands.

That's all for my December empties. I also found these 2 products below on my vanity that I haven't been wearing for a looong time because I never really liked them anyway
Both of these products are hair serums and I felt like each of them did nothing to my hair. I didn't want to finish these two because they didn't suit my hair and sometimes even makes my hair looks worse, so I decided to give these two to someone else instead:

Dove Hair-Fall Hair Therapy Combing Serum
This is to be used right after you wash your hair to reduce the amount of hair loss during combing, but I found that this is too oily for my hair. It made my hair limp and greasy. I also didn't noticed any difference on the hair loss volume, so maybe this just wasn't meant for my hair type.

Pantene Pro-V Night Miracle Leave-On Creme Serum
I don't know if it's still usable or not because I got this since a long time ago, but the texture still looks good. There was no foul smell or anything that indicates that it can't be used anymore so I gave this away hoping that this would do better for someone else. This too has an oily formula and makes my hair limp and greasy. I hate it.

So how about you?
Did you do this kind of posts too? If you love hoarding products like I do, this is a great way to motivate you to finish all your products and eventually give space for new ones, you know.. ;)

I also accumulate all my empty bottles and jars in one place and then at the end of the month I would take it to the recycled bins that are available in my new place. That way I felt like doing my little part in saving the earth by recycling all my plastic containers :D

See you on next month's Empties post!
