Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio by Hisato

3:20:00 AM

Happy holidays everybody!

So I had to take a short break a few days ago but now I'm back again ;) We are heading to a new year in a couple of days and I would like to share to you my new haircut that I got at the new Shunji Matsuo hair studio at Lippo Mall Kemang :D

I got an invitation to try a free hair cut + wash + blow at the Shunji Matsuo by Hisato hair studio that were newly relocated from their old place at Dharmawangsa Square to the new Lippo Mall Kemang Village.

I have been desperately needing a new haircut since months ago, LOL...
My hair were awfully over-grown with no shape whatsoever, so this is one gold opportunity that I wouldn't want to miss ;p

Okay, so for those of you who didn't know about Shunji Matsuo, it's a salon brand synonymous with Japanese cutting edge hair technology and innovation. It's a group of salons in Asia region. I first heard of Shunji Matsuo from Singapore's beauty bloggers as it is one of the well known hair salon in Singapore.

Taken from the website:
"Equipped with the latest hair technology from Japan, Shunji Matsuo by Hisato will bring forward the latest cutting edge hair styling in Indonesia. Boasting top hair stylists from Japan headed by Hisato Suzuki, we will soon open the Shunji Matsuo hair academy as well. With clientele ranging from the young to the young at heart, and celebrities from the film/TV industry, we're looking forward to be the hippest hair studio in town".

This is the front of Shunji Matsuo at Lippo Mall Kemang

The Shunji Matsuo hair studio is located near the corner of the 1st floor of Lippo Mall Kemang. From the outside I can already tell how exciting the hair studio is. The white long sofa seems very appealing, and the sleek modern yet elegant settings of the decor looks very exclusive but very inviting at the same time.

When I walked in, I headed straight to the reception counter and was greeted by their staffs. I forgot to asked her name but the one who wear glasses was exceptionally nice and very helpful. She offered me whether I want to put my bag and belongings in one of the lockers behind the counter.
Apparently, the hair salon provide some lockers for the guests to put on their bags and belongings so that we don't have to hassle ourselves carrying our bags from the washing area to our seats, etc. I think it's a great idea, especially if we just finished shopping and carries many shopping bags with us. At Shunji Matsuo we can keep all our bags (and shopping bags) safely inside the locker.

(the lockers)
After I was given the locker's key, I was led to my seat which located at the back of the salon. I now know the other reason why this hair salon has a locker system, and that's because most of the seats here don't have tables to put on our stuffs.

There is a big full-size tall mirror with gilded frame in front of the seats, allowing us to take a full view of ourselves. I love it so much. It's so glamorous and it feels like I'm in my own dressing room ;)

Don't you love the white and gold theme of the decor? I love it. It feels very exclusive and luxurious. I don't think I ever walked into a hair salon as beautiful as this one ;p

So after I was seated, I was introduced to my hairdresser for that day which is: Takeda san.
They actually have 4 Japanese hair stylists on board, and Takeda san is one of them.  Her full name is: Chisako Takeda.

She asked what style would I like for my hair cut and then I basically said to her that I want to keep it long and maybe she can give some shapes and styles to it. She then made some suggestions and we had a few minutes discussing the hair style that would look good on me. After I agreed on the specific hair style she then let her assistant to wash my hair first.

The washing area is located near my seat, at the back of the salon. The assistant who washed my hair kindly offered me a blanket incase I'm feeling cold. The whole hair washing experience was really nice, my hair was washed gently and I felt so relaxed and I also loved the scent of the shampoo and conditioner they used.
I think all their hair products were brought from Japan, and they also sell the products if you're interested.

After the hair-wash I was seated back and waited for Takeda san to come and cut my hair. Takeda san was a typically cute Japanese girl, she was very friendly and we chit chat a little during my hair cut. She did the hair cut in a very detailed manner, making sure that every side was cut at the perfect length, and that everything is exactly as we had discussed earlier.

After she had finished cutting my hair she took a hand held mirror to show me the length of my hair at the back. And then she had her assistant to blow dry my hair first before she gave me the finishing touches and cutting details. There is an assistant that stood not far from us all the time during the hair cutting process.

I had two assistants blow drying my hair at the same time, I felt like a celebrity or something, hahaha ;p

Then after we finished the cutting process, Takeda asked my permission to use the curling iron and then she curled my hair herself with the help of an assistant.

I really love the end result, and I really hope that I can pull off this curly look again at home. I need to get myself a bigger curling iron to create that big loose curls ^0^

And here's the final result:

Whaddayathink?

 Arigato Gozaimashita Takeda san :)

I really love my new hair and I also would like to give a shout out to Shunji Matsuo by Hisato for the lovely experience and I also would like to recommend Takeda to you if you go to Shunji Matsuo. I think she did a great job. She is also very nice and i love her attention to details in terms of cutting and curling my hair.

Here's the details of the hair cut:

I also experienced a really nice gesture at Shunji Matsuo where your hair stylist and assistant will stands by the front door, waiting for you while you checked out at the counter. They will stand there and opened the door for you, greeting you out and saying thank you to you while letting you out the door. It is such a very personal service that I really appreciate.

Shunji Matsuo have special hair technologies that you may not find in other hair salons. The technology includes the Nano steamer and the LBI Supersonic for perming and bonding. The Carbonated Water System is also one of the newer technologies they offer:

Overall, I had a very lovely experience at Shunji Matsuo that day and I was very satisfied with the end result. If you're into Japanese-inspired hair style or if you just want to experience the Shunji Matsuo by Hisato hair studio, you can call them first to set an appointment. Their phone number info and price list are both available on their website.
