[Currently Trying] : IRRESISTIBLE ME Hair Extension

6:29:00 PM

I always have problems with my hair (don't we all?). My hair is medium length and I never styled them. Even when I have special event or wedding parties to attend I'd be too lazy to style them too, so most of the time I just usually go to hair salon or just leave my hair as it is. Sometimes I curl them but I'm not very good at it and my hair is very fine and thin so my curls would fall flat in a matter of two hours... (*The story of my hair*)

BUT i do believe in "hairology", which I roughly translate as : "if your hair looks gorgeous then you will automatically look good even if you're just wearing plain tshirt or don't have your make-up on".
Well actually it's a term that I made up, LOL. I believe that as long as your hair looks good people wouldn't notice anything else. So basically, you will look good as long as your hair looks good (^_^).
That's just something I believe in ;p

But alas, with my thinning hair it seems impossible to look glamorous. So then came the hair extension idea. I personally thought that having long thick voluminous hair would get my "Hairology" game up a notch. I actually loved the idea of changing your hair in a matter of minutes, from short to long, from thin to thick luscious hair. And my fine hair definitely needs that volume! Especially for those special events and wedding parties where I want my hair to perform its magic, Lol.

Hair extension is an idea that always toying in my head. But of course I don't want a permanent extension because I'm not THAT sure I can take the extra treatment and care. So my choice automatically goes to the removable hair extensions.

I've never tried any hair extension before, so this is the story of my very first hair extension try-out.

I got my first hair extension from Irresistible Me which offers clip-in extensions which are very simple and easy to wear. We can put them on and take them off easily without having to go to hair salons. Wearing clip-in extensions would not damage our actual hair because they're just temporary / removable extensions.

Firstly, for a total newbie like me I wasn't sure on how to choose and buy hair extension that would suits my hair. So I went to Irresistible Me website and I browsed through all their pages and saw some youtube videos that they posted (and others as well), then after reading some info and watched some videos I totally understand about the varieties of hair that Irresistible Me offers, and which one should I choose. Basically you just choose which one that has the closest resemblance to your own hair, in terms of texture and color.

What I like about the Irresistible Me website is they provide ample information about their products. They are currently offering two kinds of hair extensions on their website which are the Silky Touch and the Royal Remy.

The Silky Touch is their best-selling line while the Royal Remy is their premium line. The difference is on the thickness and style of the hair. The Silky Touch hair is thinner towards the ends which resemble normal human hair, so it will provide a more natural look. While the Royal Remy hair has the same thickness from top to end, so it will provide more volume and body to your hair. The Royal Remy is also extra silky and durable.

Once you chose your preferred type of hair extension then you can choose the length and/or volume of your extensions. All of their extensions are made of the same high-quality grade 100% Remy Human Hair. The choice depends on how fine your hair is and how many volume you are looking for. For example, they recommend the 100g extensions if your hair is fine, and the 200g hair extensions if you have a thicker hair type or if you're looking for maximum volume. You can check out their FAQ page for more information.

After some browsing and measuring I finally made my choice. I chose the Silky Touch in Jet Black - 20" / 200g.

The package came in a beautiful black box which is so pretty with its black n white sketch design underneath the top flap. The box is very practical as a storage box if you want to store your extensions back in the box when you're not using it. The box is small enough to store without taking many space in my wardrobe.

Inside the box is a red zip-lock plastic bag where the hair extensions are kept. The plastic bag is divided into two sections, the smaller section at the right contains a sample of the hair extension that you order + some extra hooks. While the bigger pocket section at the left stored the rest of the hair extension set that you ordered.

So when you received this hair extension package you might want to open the smaller pocket first to sample the hair before opening the bigger pocket section. If you're not satisfy enough with the sample or if you think the hair color does not suit your real hair then you can still return the package without opening the rest of the set. Because once you open the rest of the extensions set in the bigger pocket section then you can't return them anymore.

So the reason for this little hair sample is for you to sample the extensions before you open the real one which is stored inside the bigger pocket. I think this is a nice gesture that I think is fair enough for both the company and the customer.

The hair extension sample looks like this..

It is a single hair extension with two hooks / clips that you can open to sample and try it on your hair. There's also extra clip ons for you to use as a spare. Both the sample and the rest of the hair extension set are wrapped in hairnets for easy storing.

My extension set (200g) came in 10 pieces :
- 1 pc of 4 clips hair
- 2 pcs of 3 clips hair
- 5 pcs of 2 clips hair
- 2 pcs of 1 clip hair

Don't forget that the sample provided can also be used for extra extension so that means you will have a total of 11 hair extensions in this particular set.

If you're a newbie like me you can watch videos on how to wear hair extensions here. It is basically just an easy clip on / clip off and it's not as confusing as I thought it would be. All you gotta do is learn the positions on where to put the extensions on your head and how to hide them away with your real hair so that it'll look real.

It basically only took me less than 5 minutes to wear them on my first try on :)

Now let's talk about the quality of the Irresistible Me hair extension...

As you can see above the hair texture is very soft, very fine, and shiny. Like a very healthy hair. And the quality of the hair is very very good, the texture of the hair really goes with my fine hair so it can be easily mistaken as my own hair (^_^). The hair also moves around very swiftly and very flexible so it's really easy to style.

If you see the pics above you might notice that there is a slight tint of reddish pink in the hair which I think makes it looks even more natural and convincing, because that's what real hair looks like, most of them has its distinctiveness. I don't mind it at all, as it doesn't show when I wore it in my head and as I told you above it makes it look even more natural.

The clips or hooks on the extensions are clip-on hooks and they have great grips. They are soooo easy to use and they grip to your hair very smoothly. I don't have any difficulties with the clip on hooks and they stay put all day even when I pull my hair (and extensions) into a pony tail. They didn't budge.

If you put them in the right places it won't hurt your head and scalp. If you experience some discomfort during the day then you might want to re-position them, it's easy to re-position and move them around a bit.

Here's the before/after photo of me wearing the hair extension. In these photos I didn't wear all of the extensions set, I only wore 4 of them :

Left (Before) / Right (After) :

For daily look I usually would only wear 5 - 7 of the extensions. That's my personal preference for daily look because I don't want my hair feels "heavy" for just an everyday look. Do note that the more extensions you put on your head the more heavier it will feel on your head.

For parties or special events I would use all of the extensions (all 10 / 11 of them) to create a more glamorous and extra volumized look. But for daily look I don't use all of them, just 6 or 7 pieces of the set max!

As it is made of 100% Remy human hair so it means that the hair extensions can also be washed and styled just like real hair. I mostly just curl them out and used a heat protection spray before styling them up. Below are some photos of me when I styled them with a curling iron.

Overall, I really love my first hair extension. Irresistible Me makes it so easy to choose and buy my very first hair extension. The quality also very good and the hair color and texture matches my own hair so it looks very convincing when I wore them, most people don't even realize that I use extensions! (^_^) And that's exactly the look that I aimed for. I want everybody thinks that all those volume are my real hair, Lol.

The overall quality is really really nice, the packaging is elegant and can be use to store the hair if not worn, and the extension looks and feels just like my hair. It can be styled and washed, and it's so easy to clip on / off too - which all sums up a very nice first "hair extension" experience for me. Not disappointing at all! And I would also like to recommend you to go and try Irresistible Me hair extensions. Aside from clip in extensions they also offer full lace wigs, and hair accessories as well.

Thank you Irresistible Me hair !
