[BODYCARE]: THISWORKS In The Midnight Hour Set

11:36:00 PM

Do you remember my first purchase in 2014 post? Yep, my first 2014 beauty purchase was ThisWorks "In The Midnight Hour" set that include a Deep Sleep Shower Gel and a Deep Sleep Stress Less Roller Ball. I promised you the review, and here it is ....

If you have known me for a little while, you might notice that I have a little bit of sleeping problem (amongst my many other personality problems, LOL). I might have mention quite several time on my twitter, my blogs, and my other social media platforms that I have trouble sleeping, especially at night. I have insomnia, if you would like to say it that way.

Anyway, it's been hard to conquer it. I've tried sleeping tea, etc but none of them works for me. So every time I see products that claims to help with sleeping I'd probably buy it straight away. And that was the story behind my purchase of This Works duo set. I've heard good things about them and I've also read in a few blogs that these products really helps, so I decided to get it while it was on discount at Beauty Bay.

As I've mentioned above, the set comes in two products which is the full size Deep Sleep Shower Gel (250ml) and the mini Deep Sleep Stress Less Roller Ball.

First of all, this is my first time trying any of ThisWorks products. Although I have read about them on other beauty blogs especially England-based beauty blogs, but this brand is not available here in my country. Online store like Beauty Bay really helps me in getting those brands that are not available here.

So back to the products, I really like the packaging with the sleek all-white containers adorned with interesting fonts. The shower gel is HUGE! And I love how it looks standing on my black & white themed bathroom ;p

As the set is called "In The Midnight Hour" so these products are meant to be used for night shower just before you go to bed. The shower gel contains lavender, vetivert, and camomile essential oils  which said to help relax our body and mind, so this shower gel is for night time indeed.

It has a pump at the top so it's easy to dispense the product. It smells like lavender but in a good way. I mean, I mostly don't really like lavender scent but this one smells quite subtle and serene, so it doesn't really annoy me. I think it's a combination scent of lavender with camomile which tones down the pure lavender scent.

When I showered with this shower gel somehow it makes me feel relaxed even when I'm still in the shower. So by the time I got out of the bathroom, tucking into my pajama and get ready for bed, I already feel relaxed and calm.

I then use the Deep Sleep Stress Less Roller Pen and put it on my pulse point such as my wrists and temples, and then I would feel more relaxed and ultimately feel sleepy.

Overall, I'd say that this duo set really does their job very well. I felt sleepy every time I used them (even when I only use the shower gel). I don't know what magic they have but it totally works on me ;)

I'm glad that I found this product especially the shower gel. The only down side is I have to take a shower at night just before sleep so the effect can kick right in. I know the western custom is to take a morning or night shower, but here in my country our custom is to take a shower both in the morning and in the afternoon, so I only use this when I got home late at night and don't have anything to do anymore except goes right to bed.

For better experience, I think it would be great to use on a night bath. That way you'll get even more relaxed, and sleepy feeling will come in no time. I don't have a bath tub in my current apartment so I can only shower.

You can get this set or other ThisWorks products on Beauty Bay HERE (with Free Shipping Worldwide!). Based on my recent experience I am now eyeing the Sleep Balm and Deep Sleep Pillow Spray ^o^

What about you? Have you tried any ThisWorks products before?
Or do you have any recommendation on products that can help with sleeping?

I hope you guys will have a great weekend !

  1. Hi Yuri, I also have trouble sleeping. I haven't tried these products but I think the smell of lavender does help. Atleast I like the smell of it so I feel like it works! I usually take a bath before I go to bed and I find that really helps.

  2. This duo set sounds great! I also have troubles to sleep (that's why I have bad dark circles under my eyes) and I think it would help me a lot, even though I'm not fond of lavender scents either.
