[2019] : May - August Empties

5:46:00 PM

Yuhuuu... back to my Empties post, one of the regular series here in this blog.
The last time I posted about my Empties was around February, so it was a couple months ago. So today we are back with a new Empties post because my pile of finished products were getting ridiculous because I kept on saving them for empties post but then I always got lazy to actually do the post (*oopss*). So I finally made myself sit and blog about these empties today!

So these are the products that I managed to finished for the last 3 or 4 months, I think from around May to August. So this is an accumulative empties for the last several months. Without further ado, here we go ...

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum in Oil
Oh my.. this is a very old product from The Body Shop that I found lurking on my vanity drawer. Just look at the bottle (on the photo below), it's so dirty and old. I used to wear this diligently every two nights (because the oil formula was a little bit too heavy and thick for my liking), but then I remember I got bored with it so I put it aside and changed my rotation with other face oils. And then I forgot about it and just found it again now. As I remember I kinda liked this one a little bit, because it does gives my skin a plumped-up and healthier complexion, but I was just not a fan of the thick texture of the oil.
> Recommended ? No, would like to try other serums/oils
> Replacement : Nothing. I currently don't use any face oil

Hello's Night Serum
This is a face oil from a local brand. I actually like it because it is so light and absorbed quite fast into my skin. It also helps my complexion looks brighter in the morning. I think this was the only face oil that I managed to finished because I kept reaching for it every time I want to use face oil, because it has the lightest texture of oil amongst all my other face oils at that moment.
> Recommended ? Probably Yes
> Replacement : Nothing. Still trying to use up my Dr BrandNew Hyaluronic Meso Activator Ampoule

Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream
First of all, I love the squeezable tube packaging and design. And second of all, I love the subtle pear scent of it which to me is quite relaxing and makes me feel like I'm using an exclusive spa products. I also love the lotion texture which although a bit thick but my skin absorbed it quickly. It also doesn't leave any oily residue on top of my skin and keeps my skin hydrated all night under the air conditioner.
> Recommended ? Yes for dry skin. But I would like to try other variant from Antipodes
> Replacement : Naruko Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Night Gelly

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion
I totally forgot that I had this one because apparently I accidentally left it on my parents in law's house a long time ago from when we were staying overnight there. And I just found out about it a couple weeks ago when me and hubby were cleaning our rooms in my parents in law's house. It was a stupid accidental mistake and luckily I didn't waste any money on this because this was sent by Estee Lauder to me a long time ago. You can read my full review here : Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum.
> Replacement : Still using up my Deciem The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG

Himalaya Herbals Lip Balm
This contains wheatgerm oil and carrot seed oil. Not my favorite lip balm but I still used it until it's empty because I hate wasting products. It is oily and leaves a layer on top of your lips so I used this strictly at night before bed. I can't use this under my lipstick because then my lipstick wouldn't stick to my lips. I also don't think this actually works because it didn't work for my dry lips.
> Recommended ? No
> Replacement : Nothing. Still using up my Eos Lip Balm Sphere in Strawberry Sorbet

Lancome La Vie Est Belle Fragranced Body Lotion
I got this as a set with a body wash but I finished the body wash way earlier because I rarely used body lotion (but yet I have a drawer full of them 😓). This is a rich body lotion with thick texture and strong scent (just like the perfume La Vie Est Belle). So that's why I only wear this on date nights or special occasions because the scent is so strong like a perfume. My skin seems to love perfumed body lotion instead of regular perfumes because it seems to retain the scent much longer (and with stronger projection too) compared to wearing the perfume. The scent is very sweet and gourmand with too much vanilla so maybe I won't buy the perfume version because I don't really like this scent so much.
> Recommended ? No
> Replacement : Aigner Debut Perfumed Body Lotion

Astonish Silke Soft Anti Bacterial Hand Wash
I love fancy hand wash so I love buying or trying new ones. I bought this one in Ace Hardware because I just love the shape of the big bottle. It smells good, not like a cheapie hand wash, LOL. And the scent would lasts on your hands too. It is also infused with Vitamin E to keep your hands moisturised if you washes your hands like 10 times a day like me hehe..
> Recommended ? Yes
> Replacement : Bath & Body Works Aqua Blossom Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

Dr Soap Hand Wash Forestville No 23
I really like this hand wash! I love everything about it. I love the packaging with the old apothecary look. I love the scent of it - which is subtle yet so soft and relaxing. And I also love the formula and texture which doesn't leave residue and doesn't make skin dry afterwards. I love Dr Soap products!
> Recommended ? Yes
> Replacement : Jasmine Chic Liquid Hand Wash from Zara Home

Furatasse Scalp Cleanser
This shampoo is supposed to help combat hair loss, removed sebum and control oil, and moisturised scalp to reduce irritation. I think this is pretty good, considering I went through this really fast. Maybe I do like it. This helps a little with my hair loss (but not so much), but does make my scalp feels fresh and less oily. So without the oiliness and with a lighter cleaner scalp my hair seems so bouncy and soft and easy to handle. I love how it makes my hair looks good and bouncy, but I don't think it helps very much with the hair loss problem.
> Recommended ? Yes
> Replacement : Petal Fresh Rosemary & Mint Volumizing Shampoo

Frederic Fekkai Marine Summer Hair
I had this product for so long, maybe more than 8 years already LOL. It's because it got forgotten and got shoved to the very back of the vanity drawer. I kept buying hair products while in real life I don't really use them except for shampoo & conditioner, because I'm just too lazy to do it. So that's why it's still got half of the products left. But I don't think I could still use it because it's so old already so I'm gonna throw this away.
> Recommended? No
> Replacement : Furatasse Scalp Lotion

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint
This one was also an old product that I just found in my drawer. But luckily I have emptied this one so it wasn't a waste of money. I just forgot to put it in the empty pile in my room. Anyway, this was a tint that you could use on your lips and on your cheeks. I like the color of this one, it's red but it's not too red, it's a subtle red. So it's perfect for the lips and cheeks for an everyday look.
> Recommended ? Yes, but I don't know if it's still available
> Replacement : Peripera Airy Ink velvet in #13

Bali Alus Black Tea Natural Soap
I don't know why I photographed it with the samples as clearly this was a full size soap bar and not a sample, LOL. Anyway, I love natural soaps and I found this local brand in the supermarket. I bought a couple of them but I love this Black Tea one because it smells subtle and natural. I also love the formula which does not get easily melted with water like some other natural soaps I've tried before. According to the label this one contains black tea extracts that helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots and acne scars. And it also soften the skin and helps eliminate body odour. I didn't use it on the face but I still do like it as a body soap.
> Recommended ? Probably yes, would love to try other variant first
> Replacement : Bali Alus Coffee Natural Soap

Paula's Choice Moisture Boost Daily Restoring Complex
It's a morning moisturizer and has SPF 20. It has a creamy consistency, a little bit thick but spreads quite easily. It doesn't interrupt with makeup and the SPF doesn't leave any white residue, but I think my oily area still looks a little bit oily though.
> Just so-so, Not Recommended

Paula's Choice Moisture Boost Hydrating Treatment Cream
All of these Moisture Boost series are for normal to dry skin. This one is the evening cream and it has a subtle chemical smell to it. It is also more like a lotion texture that absorbs really fast, leaving no residue and no sticky feeling. I think it gave some sort of tightness on skin because my face felt plumped up after using it.
> Recommended

Paula's Choice Moisture Boost Hydrating Toner
The toner was tingling, very runny and watery so you have to be careful when letting the product out. This one also has a chemical smell to it but not too strong. I think it's because there's acid in it, so I think it has double functions as a toner and as exfoliator as well.

That's it! My 3.5 months worth of empties.
If it doesn't seem like many products for 3 months that's because sometimes I forgot and just throw away the products, but I think these were not bad, considering I managed to finished up 10 full size products, 3 samples, and threw away 2 products because of expire date.

In total, I finished 12 full size products + 3 samples in 3.5 months.

See you on my next Empties post!

Meanwhile, you can check my last Empties post here.
