[Bodycare] : YARDLEY English Rose Soap

7:26:00 PM

It's so much pinkiness in my bathroom right now! 💖
It's a Rose theme week. The rose candle on the pic above is from Miniso, while the rose pink soap on the dish is from Yardley London. Today I will review the Yardley English Rose Soap :)

As you might probably have picked up by now, I love scented soaps. Or unique shaped soaps. Or anything fancy basically..

Soaps (and shower gels) is one of my weaknesses. I love buying them and hoarding them. But I do use them though.. so they get to be used and not just sitting pretty on the stock drawer. I always have soaps and shower gels in my stock drawer because I love buying them. Basically I love buying anything scented, whether it's soaps/shower gels, body sprays, candles, perfumes, etc...

I bought these Yardley soaps in Mustafa Centre, Singapore. They can also be a nice gift for souvenirs for your friends and family because you can't find them here in Indonesia. They were also cheap and you can get them in boxes like the ones on the photo above. For example, I bought two boxes of Yardley Soaps, one in English Lavender and another one in English Rose.

I specifically bought them for souvenirs because their packaging is pretty and look like a luxury item. Each box (like the one in pics above) contains 3 soaps each, so with two boxes I got a total of 6 soap bars that I can give to friends and family as souvenirs 😉

I gave all the Lavender soaps and a couple of the English Rose away. I only kept one English Rose soap for myself. This soap has a strong fragrance even the box smells so good! You can definitely smell them even if you haven't opened them yet. I also love the pretty and classic-style packaging of the box and each of the soap bar.  So that's why I think they're special :)

Now let's get on to the review, shall we?

Yardley English Rose Luxury Soap
First of all, Yardley is a classic UK brand that originated from mid-17th century (!). Talk about classic, right? The brand also had obtained a royal warrant from the English monarch for the provision of all the soap to the City of London. Today's Yardley London embodies this rich and wonderful heritage with pride. Their name is famous as a purveyor of luxury fragrances and soaps.

Their classic signature fragrance is their English Lavender scent, with it's heady and seductive fragrance. But I also love the scent of this English Rose one. And because it's pink (!) LOL.

The English Rose is a refreshing, light fresh floral scent from their Floral Classics range, inspired by a diverse variety of flowers that offers a range of modern bouquet fragrances. The soap bars contains moisturising shea butter, and these soaps are triple-milled for a rich, creamy leather feels.

According to the website, the scent is a refreshing, light fresh floral with sparkling citrus and rose top notes blended with tea accord. Combining a complex floral heart of rose bud, magnolia, violet and cassis with warm woody notes. It is also enhanced with patchouli and musks, adding velvety tones to the base.

To my nose it smells very lovely. They do smell very very nice. And even though the fragrance is strong, but it's not the type of fragrance that hurts your nose or gives you headache. The English Rose smells like a classic vintage rose scent to me. You know the powdery rose type of scent? That's how it smells like.. but only nicer :)

The soap also has a lot of foams when you use it, and the foams feels soft and creamy on the skin. It's definitely not the drying type of soap that you may find on cheaper soap bars, it also doesn't leave residue on skin. But if you have dry skin it would leave a "tight" feeling on the skin. And that's what I don't like about it. I have a weird skin which changes according to the weather. Sometimes when my skin is in dry condition this soap would leave that "tight" feel on skin, but when the weather is nice and my skin is normal then I would have no problem with this soap. Instead it would leave my skin soft, smooth, and a little bit moisturised. My skin is so weird, I know ...

Overall, I like this soap because of it's rich foamy sweet smelling properties, but I only like using it when my skin is in normal condition. I also love how the packaging and the soap itself looks pretty, and they are rather cheap and affordable too. The only thing thing that I don't like is how sometimes it could make my skin feels "tight and pulled". But I would still love using it and would also love to try the Lavender ones or any other Yardley London products in the future :)
